4A Defensive Player of the Year: DE Tyler Casby, Edna Karr

This week, we reveal our defensive players of the year from 1A-5A in the entire state on our T.V. show. These players are the best of the best at what they do and they beat out some very tough candidates to win this prestigious honor. If we had to give out 50 trophies to each of the winners, we would but there are so many that you can give out. Throughout the week, we profile the winners on our website. Two days ago, we profiled Southern Lab DT Shannon Forman Jr, who was our 1A Defensive Player of the Year. Yesterday, we profiled the 3A Defensive Player of the Year in Lutcher DB Dylan Recotta. Signing Day at Landry Walker High School!

What a day for Louisiana High School football yesterday as some of the best football players signed their letter of intent to the college of their choice. There are so many talented players in the entire state of Louisiana, and it is great that they are recognized for not only what they do on the football field, but in the classroom as well. For National Signing Day, Louisiana Football Magazine covered four different schools. Two days ago, we covered Parkview Baptist and Woodlawn (Shreveport). Yesterday, we covered Comeaux High School. The final school that we covered this National Signing Day is Landry Walker High School.

The Landry Walker Chargin' Bucs clinched their first state championship this season against football powerhouse West Monroe. Of course, people talk about the play of QB and Mississippi State early enrollee Keytaon Thompson and deservingly so, as he was arguably the best player in the state this year, but just like any great player, he needed a sidekick to help him out and take the focus away from him.
