Recruiting Interview: CB Corey Straughter, Neville High School

Neville High School has been one of the best high school football programs in the last decade. Over the years, they have the fourth most state championships for Louisiana High Schools trailing only John Curtis, Haynesville, and Evangel Christian. The school has also produced some great players such as John Diarse (former LSU Wide receiver), Rashard Lawrence (LSU committ), and Kavontae Turpin (TCU). Just to name a few, but maybe the next great player to come out of this school is the guy we are going to interview today.

Calvary Baptist WR Kyle Jones is an exciting player as he is not one of the biggest guys on the field as he only stands 5'9 at 190 lbs but he is quick and explosive and is a threat to make a 5 yard gain into a 70 yard touchdown. He is quick enough and fast enough to outrun people at the same time has enough power to break tackles and run people over.

Evangel Christian Academy WR/FS Tanner Ash is a great football player because he can play both sides of the football and can beat you from any position. Tanner is one of the best returning players in the state and can help give Evangel Christian Academy a spark that will help them go a little further than last year when they lost the state semi final game. Tanner is a very good wide receiver and is versatile enough to play at any position.

West Monroe running back Trey Coleman is one of the best running backs in the state. He has a great blend of power and speed and he put up some outstanding numbers all while sharing the backfield with two other running backs in a West Monroe option offense. As of now, Trey Coleman is committed to the University of Tennessee and is one of the most looked after skilled position players in the state.

Arcadia Center/Defensive end/Defensive tackle/Long Snapper/Full Back Dustin Mills is one of the most versatile players in the state with the many positions that he can play. Proving his versatility even more, he is playing a new position at tight end. Just call him a Swiss army knife as he does everything on the football field except playing quarterback but who knows he might add that to his list of positions that he plays soon.

Last week, we had our Offensive Players of the Year show. Here is our runners up and Honorable Mention List. Trey Ragas (broke the rushing record at Shaw this season), North Webster RB Devin White (LSU Signee), Brother Martin TE Irv Smith (signed with Alabama) and many more made the list. These kids were fantastic all year and really do deserve recognition.
