LAFM: Height & Weight

6’2”, 180 lbs.

 

LAFM: What do you run the 40 in?

LAFM: How long have you played football? What positions have you played?

I have been playing since I was 6 years old. During those years I’ve played DB, RB, WR, QB, LB, and even OL my first year.

 

LAFM: Is there anyone in your family that played sports at a High School, College, or even professional level?

I have had 2 uncles and many cousins play for Covington High School.

 

LAFM: Did your family have any influence on you playing sports?

My mom and uncles encouraged me to play. They have always been there to support me.

 

LAFM: Have you gone or are you going to any college camps, if so where?

I’ve attended ULL, USM, LA Tech, LSU, and Alcorn St.

 

LAFM: What do you like most about football?

Being able to let out all my passion for the game. It is a great stress reliever. Also, I enjoy having ordinary guys eventually come together and become brothers.

 

LAFM: What do you need to work on to play at the collegiate level?

I need to work on becoming more dominant and aggressive.

 

LAFM: What is your biggest strength on the field?

I would say my biggest strength would be my ball hawking ability.

 

LAFM: What college & professional team did you grow up loving?

I grew up watching the New Orleans Saints and LSU.

 

LAFM: What football player do you look up to or view as a role model?

Cam Newton and Tyrann Mathieu

 

LAFM: Who is your all time favorite football player?

My all-time favorite player (other than me) would be Deion Sanders.

 

LAFM: Tell us something about yourself that people would be surprised to know.

My favorite TV shows are SpongeBob and Teen Wolf.

 

LAFM: Favorite school subject?

History

 

LAFM: What do you want to do professionally when you’re finished playing ball?

Either join a business program or get involved in TV Communications.

 

LAFM: What are your three favorite colleges in Louisiana and why?

My favorite colleges would be LSU (because I grew up watching them), ULL (because I love their campus and school), and last would be SELU because I love their colors.

 

LAFM: Did you participate in any other sports? Why did you choose football?

I run Track and play Basketball. I chose football because it’s my first love, and I feel more comfortable playing football.

 

LAFM: Do you have any superstitions or routine/something you do before every game?

I get down on 1 knee, face the stadium, and pray.

 

LAFM: Where would you like to play college ball?

I am currently undecided where I would like to play college football.

About Reid Althage

Reid is from Harvey, LA and went to Brother Martin High School. He played men's NAIA soccer at LSU Shreveport for his first 2 years college. His junior year, Reid transferred to Baton Rouge and graduated from LSU with a Sports Administration Degree. He started with LAFM as an Intern in April 2013 and was hired in October. Reid loves anything to do with sports (Saints, Pelicans, and Liverpool FC Fan), the outdoors, and family/friends.
