Coaching Spotlight: Kendrick Law, Booker T. Washington High School

1.)  How many years have you been in coaching and at what age did you start coaching?

14 years and I started at the age of 22.



2.) What is the name of the first school you coached at? What other schools have you coached at?

Magnolia H.S. Magnolia,Ar/ Woodlawn Shreveport/Southern Ark University, Magnolia,AR/ Marshall, Marshall, TX/Southwood Shreveport/ BTW Shreveport.



3.) What made you get into coaching? Who or what influenced you the most?

I got into coaching because I love football.  Right from the start, I was influenced from my little league coach.


4.) Where did you go to high school? What sports did you play if any?

Booker T. Washington High in Shreveport. I played Football/Track.

Also, know that I feel that BTW is  the most prestigious job I could have since it is my high school.



5.) Did you go to college?

Yes, Southern Ark. University, Magnolia Ark.



6.) Who are some of the best players you’ve ever coached?

Dennis Morris/Woodlawn/LA. Tech/ Washington Redskins/ San Diego Chargers  Jordan Babineaux/Tennesee Titans.



7.) What would you like to see changed in High School football?

Stop Recruiting. Schools should not be allowed to recruit high school kids.


8.) Are there any changes you would like to see in High School football that they have already changed in college ball?

No.


9.) Do you think the brand of Louisiana football is different than anywhere else?

Needs to pick up the pace and catch up with Texas.



10.) Do you feel like the offense/defense philosophies differ between North and South Louisiana?

Yes. The north tends to throw the ball more than the south, and the south tends to run the ball more than the north. The south has private schools with more athletes.



11.) Who is your favorite NFL player of all time and why?

NONE.

I do not watch sports quite honestly. I know it is different, but I just do not watch. I do not have a favorite team or anything. I plan on trying to watch more in the upcoming year.


12.) Who is your favorite college or pro football coach and why?

None
