Recruit Interview: QB Landon Roberts, Cecilia HS
Cecilia QB Landon Roberts is having quite a year with over 1300 yards passing and 23 total touchdowns. He is a big reason why his team is 8-1 and looking to make a strong run in the playoffs. Meet Landon in today’s Recruit Interview.

Landon Roberts, 17 years old, Quarterback (Senior)

LAFM: 40 yard dash time?
LAFM: How long have you played QB? Were you always a QB?
I’m a three year starter for Cecilia, yes I have always been a QB!
LAFM: Is there anyone in your family that played ball at a high school, college, or even professional? If so, who and where did they play?
Dad, Clifford Roberts, played football and baseball at Cecilia High.
LAFM: Do you plan on being a QB in college?
Yes, if the opportunity would come, I would love to play college football somewhere.
LAFM: What do you like most about football?
What I like most about football is playing under the lights with all of my friends, who have been friends for years!
LAFM: What are your strengths at QB?
My strength at QB is knowing what our offense is trying to accomplish and executing when the time comes. My coach and I really focus on the fundamentals as well as all of my pre snap reads, post snap reads, and reading the fronts and coverages.
LAFM: What do you need to improve on now to be a better QB?
I can improve on everything. That is why I work at practice on all of the little details and watch film with Coach Martin as much as possible.
LAFM: What are your favorite teams?
My favorite college team is LSU. My favorite NFL team is the Green Bay Packers.
LAFM: Who are your favorite players?
My favorite player is Aaron Rodgers and Peyton Manning.
LAFM: What player at your position do you look up to the most?
I look up to Aaron Rodgers.
LAFM: Favorite school subject?
LAFM: What are the team goals for the remainder of the season?
Our team goal at the beginning of the season was to finish strong and it is still just that. We need to stay true to our practices and the little details like we have been doing. If we can do that, we will be hard to stop!
LAFM: Do you have any personal goals in regards to football?
My personal goal is lead my team as far as we can this season. None of us really worry about stats, as long as we are winning! Sonny Angelle and I will keep the team on the right track.
LAFM: Do you have any superstitions or routine/something you do before every game?
Yes, I do have a superstition, putting my left cleat on but tying the right one first. And praying before each game, all glory to God!
LAFM: Favorite Football memory?
Throwing my first varsity touchdown in my first varsity start in 2013.
LAFM: What college teams do you want to play for?
I want to play for McNeese State University.
LAFM: Who are your role models in your life?
My dad is my biggest role model because of his work ethic (which I hope to have one day) and his Faith. He teaches me to keep God close in every situation in life. All glory to God!
