LAFM: Name, position, school?

My name is Ahkeem Henderson, and I played DB/RB for Ouachita Christian High School. I am now signed to play at Harding University.

LAFM: Current height and weight?

 6-1,  185 lbs

LAFM: Any notable statistics or honors?

I made All-District and All-State. I played in the Louisiana All-Star Game.

LAFM: You signed with Harding University. What other schools were next in line if you had to say 1-3?

It was either ULL, ULM, or Harding. I chose Harding.

LAFM: I know you were recruited as an athlete. What position does Harding want you to play?

They want me to play DB.

LAFM: Why did you choose Harding University?

I had a great time when I went there for my visit. They showed me a lot of love, and they showed me the brotherhood they had among their team. It was like a family and that really stood out to me.

LAFM: What did you enjoy the most about your recruitment process?

I would probably say the traveling. It was fun getting to see all of the school campuses and what college life is going to be like.

LAFM: Who are some people that stand out as major factors in choosing Harding?

I would say my dad, family, and my coaches. They gave me good advice. They told me to pick whatever school I felt the most comfortable with and whatever school felt like home.

LAFM: What do you bring as a player to the Harding football program?

I am an aggressive player who likes to tackle.  I am a hard worker. I enjoy the ball in my hands and feel as though I am a play maker on defense and offense.

LAFM: What is one thing you think that you need to improve upon going to the next level?

I definitely need to improve upon my footwork and communication skills.

LAFM: What are you most excited about going into next year?

I am definitely excited to play collegiate football. I cannot wait for the first day of practice and finally getting to see how it feels to play college ball.

LAFM: What advice can you give to the 2015 class on their recruitment process?

Be humble. Do not jump at your first offer. Take your time and know their is no need to rush. Let everything fall in to place so you can make the correct decision.

LAFM: How did Ouachita Christian High School prepare you for playing football at the next level?

Mentally, they taught us right from wrong and taught us a Godly perspective. They surrounded us with Godly men who cared about us and got us through tough times on and off the football field. My teammates and I could have gone to our coaches for anything.

On the football field, they worked us and wore us out. From conditioning, to weight lifting, to the practices, everything was high intensity. We got better throughout the year because of the work they made  us do.
