By Reid Althage

LAFM: Name, position, school?

My name is Dalvin Populist, and I am the QB for Northshore High School

LAFM: Current weight and height?

6-3,  205 lbs

LAFM: Current ACT score and GPA?

2.45 GPA

LAFM: 40 yard dash, max bench, max squat,?

I run a 4.41 40-yard dash. My max bench is 265 and my max squat is 405.

LAFM: How did the season go for you and the team?

We started off strong, but after that we could not get much going. Still, I feel positive about the season considering we had some strong games where we competed extremely well.

LAFM: What has been your best game this season?

One of my best gams was against St. Pauls where I passed for over 200 yards passing. I had another great game against Fountainebleau where I rushed for over 200 yards.

LAFM: Who is your favorite football player of all time?

Cam Newton-I like his versatility at the QB position. Also, he seems to have fun every time he gets on the field. He loves doing his job.

LAFM: How old were you when you started playing and where?

I was 6 or 7 when I started playing little league at the Slidell Youth Football Association.

LAFM: Do you have any family members or friends that have had a big influence on you as you play football?

I would have to honestly say my parents. I just see how hard they work day in and day out. I strive for that same work ethic in everything I do, so I can be great just like them.

LAFM: If football does not work out for you, what do you see yourself doing? Have you thought of a major in college?

I could definitly see myself training younger kids when I am older. I would like to do it at the collegiate or professional level. I could go into physical therapy or become some sort of trainer/coach.

LAFM: Are there any schools that are recruiting you? Do you have any favorites?

Hawaii and Southeastern are the two offers I have as of now. I am in talks with LSU, Tennessee, ULL, and Mississippi State. I really have no favorites right now.

LAFM: What positions are you being recruited for? What is your favorite position and why?

I am being recruited as an ATH. I would love to play QB, but I am willing to play anything at the top level.  I enjoy QB because there is a certain demand on you to be a leader and set an example. I like the weight on my shoulders, and being the major factor in my team’s success.

LAFM: What was something special about your team this year?

Our team was a very close group especially between the seniors. We were always talking to each other and hanging out outside of football. We worked hard together. Although our record does not show it, we felt the season was positive considering how our team came together.

LAFM: Outside of football, what makes your school special?

Norhthshore is special because of the great people and great teachers. We have a academically tough school and our teachers know that. They are always helping us no matter what. They even go out of their way to make sure you have extra help.
