LAFM: Name, position, school?

My name is Roland Dunn, and I am a CB for Evangel High School. I also play some WR and RB.

LAFM: Current weight and height?

5-10, 170 lbs

LAFM: Current ACT score and GPA?

22 ACT, 3.4 GPA

LAFM: 40 yard dash, max bench, max squat, max clean?

I run a 4.4 40-yard dash. My max bench is 245 and my max squat is 315.

LAFM: How did the season go for you and the team?

I feel like the season went really well. We had a really young team, so making it to the semi-finals was definitely a success. People did not expect us to do as well as we did. I am definitely thankful for what we have done this year.

LAFM: What has been your best game this season?

I would say round 2 in the playoffs against St. Thomas Moore was my best game. I had a 106 yard interception return for a TD which ended up being a school record. I also blocked a field goal and had a fumble recovery.

LAFM: Who is your favorite football player of all time?

Dion Sanders- He was a playmaker who had an outstanding desire to be great which showed in his game.  Although slightly a drama queen, he always went out and made play after play.

LAFM: How old were you when you started playing and where?

I was 4 or 5 years old when I started playing flag football at the YMCA.

LAFM: Do you have any family members or friends that have had a big influence on you as you play football?

I would have to say my father and brother. Both of them are continuously on me even when I am doing well. Although he gave it up to make sure he can do what he wants academically, my brother played football in college for McNeese. They have both kept me focused on my goals.

LAFM: If football does not work out for you, what do you see yourself doing? Have you thought of a major in college?

I plan on going into kinesiology and getting a job in physical therapy or sports medicine. I am not sure why, but I have always wanted to go into the medical field. If I go into one those two areas, I can still stick around football.

LAFM: Are there any schools that are recruiting you? Do you have any favorites?

I know I am being evaluated by a few schools. I have gotten mail from Southern, and Mississippi State and some other big schools. As for favorites, I have always been an Ole Miss fan. If they showed interest, I would really like to go there for school.

LAFM: What positions are you being recruited for? What is your favorite positions and why?

I have fallen in love with playing DB. I like being the one to have to go out and stop somebody. It is a challenge to play defense. It is so much fun when you can put the team on your back as a defense. Not to mention I rather give hits than receive them.

LAFM: What was something special about your team this year?

In the beginning of the season we had a lot of problems with confidence. We had our fair share of critics which did not help. Our coach challenged us to go out and give 100 percent for God, and everybody on the team bought into it. I can honestly say in my 4 years that I have never played on a team with as much fight as this one. I am really proud of our young guys stepping up to fill in their roles, and I am proud of my fellow seniors who were great at doing their job.

LAFM: Outside of football, what makes your school special?

I know we are known for our football, but Evangel is so much more than that. The school stands on a Christian Foundation. The reason we have success is because we base our success off of God and what he does for us. Our belief and faith in God make us special.
