LAFM: How is the season preparation going thus far?

Eric Bell
Eric Bell

We made it to the semi-finals this year, so that was good. Practices were intense too, and everything was quick and very fast-paced. As a senior, my coaches depended on me to teach the younger guys football skills. They expected me to put a lot more into it this year, which I was happy to do.

LAFM: Who did you look forward to playing this year and why?

I was really looking forward to playing St. James High School, but we couldn’t play them because Hurricane Isaac hit. They are always our first game of the season.

LAFM: Current height and weight?

I am 6’3 and 245.

LAFM: Do you consider yourself a quick guy or a fast guy?

I would say I am a quick guy. I’m not the fastest man on the field, but I can get to the ball pretty quickly.

LAFM: 40-yard dash time?

4.7 seconds

LAFM: Who is your football idol and why?

I would have to say my football idolsare Michael Strahan and Jason Pierre-Paul because they are amazing defensive linemen and they dominate the game.

LAFM: How old were you when you started playing and where?

I actually started playing when I was 13 at West St. John High School. My cousin is James Wright, who plays wide receiver for LSU, and he really started my interest in the sport.

LAFM: Top 3 favorite colleges and why?

I would have to say Tulane, of course, because I have committed there. I also like LSU and Florida.

LAFM: Did you go to any camps this summer? Which ones and how were they?

I went to camps at Mississippi State and Tulane. They were both defensive camps, so I got to work on my skills a lot.

LAFM: If football doesn’t work out, what do you see yourself doing? Have you thought of a major?

I am going to major in sports medicine and one day work at the professional level.

LAFM: What positions are you being recruited for? Which is your favorite position?

I’m being recruited to play defensive line and that’s also my favorite position.

LAFM: Current GPA and ACT score?

I have a 3.2 GPA and am still working to bring my ACT score to where I want it.
