LAFM: Name, position, school?

My name is Tyler Johnson, and I am a DT for St. Amant High School.

LAFM: Current weight and height?

6-0,  265 lbs

LAFM: Current ACT score and GPA?

20 ACT  3.4 GPA

LAFM: 40-yard dash, and max bench, max squat, max clean?

I run a 4.92 40-yard dash. My max bench is  360, and my max squat is  545.

LAFM: How did the season go for you and the team?

We had a good season. Our non-district play was great. We lost many of our distict games, but they were all very close. I believe we never lost by more than 10 points. We competed well in every game, but just did not finish well in the games we lost.

LAFM: What has been your best game this season?

I would probably say Lutcher or Catholic-I just had a really good games against both teams. We won both games.

LAFM: Who is your favorite football player of all time?

John Randle-He is a shorter dude at DT. He was completely relentless. No one could block him.

LAFM: How old were you when you started playing and where?

I started playing around the age of 7. It was in a pee wee league in Donaldsonville.

LAFM: Do you have any family members or friends that have had a big influence on you as you play football?

My uncle. Even before I got to high school, I would go to his house every summer. We would train for a couple weeks to get me ready for football season.

LAFM: If football does not work out for you, what do you see yourself doing? Have you thought of a major in college?

I am going to double major in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine. I want to be an athletic trainer or team doctor. I want to do something that will keep me around the game.

LAFM: Are there any schools that are recruiting you?

I am being recruited by Nicholls, Southern, Henderson State, and St. Olaf College (NAIA). My favorite is probably Nicholls. It is close to home. The D-Line Coach (Brandon Washington) and I have have a good relationship and get along well.

LAFM: What positions are you being recruited for? What is your favorite positions and why?

I am being recruited as a DL. My favorite positions is DT.

LAFM: What was something special about your team this year?

Our defense was a hard nosed defense. We did not allow many points this season. We dictated what we wanted the offense to do and not do all season long.

LAFM: Outside of football, what makes your school or town special?

I guess I like the community. It is a tight nit place which is family oriented.
