Duke Riley

Every year, our team goal is to win the state championship. We work hard every day on and off the field to stay dedicated and never be complacent. At the end of the year, we ended up winning the state championship and were ranked the nation’s best team.

LAFM: Who did you look forward to playing this year and why?

Well in district, I looked forward to playing South Plaquemine the most because I am actually from that area. I know most of the people on their team, some of them are even my family, and it was really fun to compete against them.

LAFM: Current height and weight?

6’2” and 212

LAFM: Do you consider yourself a quick guy or a fast guy?

I would say I am both.

LAFM: 40-yard dash time?

4.48

LAFM: Who is your football idol and why?

I would have to say Ray Lewis because we both play the same position, and it’s his 17th year in the NFL, so he really has dedication. The way he leads on and off the field impresses me, and the emotions he has about the game are really genuine. It’s my ultimate goal to play on that level, and I want to stay humble and appreciative about it the way he does.

LAFM: How old were you when you started playing and where?

I was 5 years old when I started paying. My older brother and I played in our hometown of Buras, La. All I ever wanted to do was play football because I love the game so much and I am very dedicated to it.

LAFM: Top 3 favorite colleges and why?

I have 16 offers total, and my top schools are LSU, Ole Miss, TCU and Tulane.

LAFM: Did you go to any camps this summer? Which ones and how were they?

I went to Ole Miss, TCU, Miss St., LSU and Tulane.

LAFM: If football doesn’t work out, what do you see yourself doing? Have you thought of a major?

Oh of course because football can only take you so far. I am thinking about majoring in Kinesiology and becoming a physical therapist.

LAFM: What positions are you being recruited for? Which is your favorite position?

Outside linebacker

LAFM: Current GPA and ACT score?

18 ACT and 3.86 GPA
