LAFM: Name, position, school?

My name is Alex Anderson and I play OL for Landry High School.

LAFM: Current height and weight?

6-4, 300 lbs

LAFM: Current ACT score and GPA?

2.5 GPA

LAFM: Max Bench Press, Max cleans, Max Squat?

My max bench is 325, and my max squat is 425. We do not max out on cleans.

LAFM: How is the season going for you and your team?

We are having a great season. Everyone has embraced the joining of our schools. I have done extremely well and performing at the high level my coaches and peers expect of me. I went into the season focusing on becoming a dominant player, and I have played as a dominant player every game.

LAFM: What has been your best or favorite game so far this season?

Edna Karr was special because of the atmosphere. It was competitive because of their good defensive line. I was able to step up and play really well.

LAFM: Who is your favorite football player of all time?

Big Willy Roaf is my favorite football player. He was huge up top but fast at the bottom. He moves so well for a guy who is so big. He reminds me of myself.

LAFM: How old were you when you started playing and where?

I was 13 when I started playing football.

LAFM: Do you have any family members or friends that have had a big influence on you as you play football?

Both of my older brothers have been a huge influence on me along with my new offensive line coach. My brothers have always pushed me and helped with training. They go over the games with me and do everything to help me. Coach Cager (OL Coach) has been a huge help this year. He actually made it to the NFL and has been working with me on my technique and new moves. He has taught me different play styles and made me really improve. He is with me all day every day teaching and helping me get better.

LAFM: If football does not work out for you, what do you see yourself doing? Have you thought of a major in college?

I would like to go into business and possibly becoming a real estate agent. I really enjoy selling things and dealing with property. I believe I could find houses for people who really need them.

LAFM: Are there any schools that are recruiting you? Do you have any favorites?

I am being recruited all over, but have committed to Arizona State University. I felt really good about the relationship I developed with Coach Graham (HC) and Coach Thomsen (OLC). The school also fits my play style and I feel comfortable their.

LAFM: What positions are you  being recruited for? What is your favorite positions and why?

Arizona State wants me to play OT. They are going to see how I transition though and I may move to a different position on the line.

LAFM: What makes your school special?

This school has so much traditions and Spirit. This year has been even more fantastic with joining of the two high schools (L.B. Landry and O. Perry Walker). At first the community thought it would be chaos, but it never came to that. The football teams were the first groups from each school to join each other. We automatically fell in love with each other. We just instantly became a team and great friends. After the football team came together, the community followed along with the rest of the school. The team was able to set a tempo for the school and community which made everybody get together. Now everybody loves the school.
