LAFM: Name, position, school?

My name is Michael Mann, and I play QB for Country Day High School.

LAFM: Current weight and height?

6-2, 185 lbs

LAFM: Current ACT score and GPA?

My GPA is 3.5 without Honors and a 4.0 with Honors. I did not take the ACT, but I made a 2150 on my SAT.

LAFM: 40 yard dash, Max Bench Press, Max cleans, Max Squat?

I run a 4.8/40-yard dash. My max bench is 180, squat 225, and clean 170.

LAFM: How is the season going for you and your team?

We are having a great season. Going into the season we had high expectations, and have done what we thought we would do. Our RBs and O-Line have done a great job all year and given us a dominant rushing attack. The defense is doing an amazing job as well.

LAFM: What has been your best game so far this season?

I played consistently throughout the season so it is hard to pick one game. I would have to say the Covington Christian Game.

LAFM: Who is your favorite football player of all time?

Drew Brees- He handles himself so well on and off the field. My favorite speech is the one he gave after he broke the passing yard record. He congratulates the whole team and talked about how it was a team award. He is just a class act.

LAFM: How old were you when you started playing and where?

I started playing around 7-8. It was little league tackle at Pontiff Playground.

LAFM: Do you have any family members or friends that have had a big influence on you as you play football?

My brother played college football at Davidson College. Once he graduated college, he became my coach freshman and sophomore year. We always go over game film, and he gives me some good tips. He is always trying to help me.

LAFM: If football does not work out for you, what do you see yourself doing? Have you thought of a major in college?

I have thought about going into engineering and following through with Medical School.

LAFM: Are there any schools that are recruiting you? Do you have any favorites?

I have talked to Coaches at different schools, but have not committed anywhere as of now.

LAFM: What positions are you being recruited for? What is your favorite positions and why?

My favorite position is QB. I love playing quarterback because I like leading the team. I enjoy being a decision-maker and taking responsibility. I like the leadership role

LAFM: what makes your school special?

The entire school is a big family. I am comfortable with my teachers  and everybody involved with the school. It is a beautiful campus that I enjoy going to every day. I love our environment and tradition. I love our football team. We are not the biggest school around and we do not have the hugest lineman. Still, we block and run harder than anybody else. Everyone plays their hearts out. It is not about the team’s size, it is about how we play.
