LAFM: Name, position, school?

My name is Omari Jones, and I am a QB for Eleanor McMain High School.


LAFM: Current weight and height?

6-3, 190 lbs


LAFM: Current ACT score and GPA?

19 ACT  2.6 GPA


LAFM: 40-yard dash?

4.7 40-yard dash


LAFM: How did the season go for you and the team?

The season was up and down, but we made it to the playoffs.

 

 

LAFM: What has been your best game this season?

My best game was against Indepence High School. It was our first win of the season, and I had 5 TDs and over 500 yards.

 

LAFM: Who is your favorite football player of all time?

Cam Newton- He has a swagger about him. You can tell he was born a leader.

 

LAFM: How old were you when you started playing and where?

I was about 6 or 7 when I started playing pee wee in New Orleans.

 

LAFM: If football does not work out for you, what do you see yourself doing? Have you thought of a major in college?

I want to be a fire fighter. In college,  I will probably major in business management.

 

LAFM: Are there any schools that are recruiting you? Do you have any favorites?

Southern, Northwestern, ULL, Grambling and Nicholls are all schools trying to recruit me. Southern is probably my favorite. I visited their and liked everything about it.

 

LAFM: What positions are you being recruited for? Whats your favorite aspect of that position?

I am being recruited as a QB and it is my favorite position. I enjoy everything offensively going through me and the leadership role which comes with being a QB.

 

LAFM: What was something special about your team this year?

Even though we had a really hard schedule throughout the season, we fought hard every single game.

 

LAFM: Outside of football, what makes your school special?

I liked that the entire school supported our team the whole year.

About Reid Althage

Reid is from Harvey, LA and went to Brother Martin High School. He played men's NAIA soccer at LSU Shreveport for his first 2 years college. His junior year, Reid transferred to Baton Rouge and graduated from LSU with a Sports Administration Degree. He started with LAFM as an Intern in April 2013 and was hired in October. Reid loves anything to do with sports (Saints, Pelicans, and Liverpool FC Fan), the outdoors, and family/friends.
