LAFM: Name, position, school?

My name is Quentin Gibson, and I play QB for Archbishop Shaw High School.

LAFM: Current weight and height?

6-3,  205 lbs

LAFM: Current ACT score and GPA?

2.9 GPA

LAFM: 40 yard dash, max bench, and max squat?

I run a 4.8 40/yard dash. My max bench is 255, and squat is 320.

LAFM: How is the season going for you and your team?

It started off great going 4-1, but we ended up losing many of our catholic league games. We are in the playoff so it was not a disappointing season especially since we have gotten banged up throughout the season. We only have 6 starting seniors and need some young guys to step up. Many games this season we should have won but did not finish them.

LAFM: What has been your best game so far this season?

I would say the South Lafourche game. I was very efficient going 8-11 and had 4 TDs.

LAFM: Who is your favorite football player of all time?

Peyton Manning- I like his playing style and how the coach allows him so much control. He is always thinking about what he can do to gain an advantage. I like him as an overall player and want to model my game after him.

LAFM: How old were you when you started playing and where?

I was 6 years old and played at Nicholson Playground in Marrero.

LAFM: Do you have any family members or friends that have had a big influence on you as you play football?

I would have to say my whole family. My mom, dad, and 3 older brothers have always told me what I can do to better myself. They have always been there for me when I need them.  They have always given me help in any way they can.

LAFM: If football does not work out for you, what do you see yourself doing? Have you thought of a major in college?

I plan on majoring in kinesiology and would like to be an athletic trainer. I enjoy helping kids better themselves and reach their goals.

LAFM: Are there any schools that are recruiting you? Do you have any favorites?

Western Kentucky, Baylor, LSU, Texas Tech, and UCLA are several of the schools recruiting me. I have been offered by Western Kentucky and Southern Alabama. Western Kentucky is my favorite and Baylor is probably my second.

LAFM: What positions are you being recruited for? What is your favorite positions and why?

I am being recruited as a QB. It is definitely my favorite position. I like to be in control of the offense and the responsibility that comes with being a QB. The leadership role is one I enjoy and am confident in taking.

LAFM: what makes your school special?

The community inside of the school makes Shaw special. We have a lot of alumni who come back to the school and give advice. I get to hear about Shaw’s successful history as a school and football program. It gives me confidence and pride in my school.
