Turner Francis
– Property of LAFM

By Reid Althage

LAFM: Name, Position, Team?

My name is Turner Francis. I am a Senior Quarterback at Minden High School.

LAFM:  How is the season going so far for you and your team?

Well comparing to last year, we are doing a lot better. Now that we are in district play it is important for us to play well and continue to get better.

LAFM: Which Game are you looking forward to?

I would have to say our game against Benton High School. We have a rivalry with Benton which always makes those games exciting. Also, it is going to be our homecoming game and a lot of people are going to be there.  We want to make our home crowd proud.

21 and 3.5

LAFM: Current height and weight?

6-0, 185

LAFM: 40-yard dash time? Max bench, clean, and squat?

Well I lost about 40 pounds since I last ran a 40, so I am not sure in that department. My max bench is 245, max clean is 235, and max squat is 430.

LAFM: Who is your favorite football player of all time?

I would have to say Terry Bradshaw. He played at Woodlawn which is near us, and my grandpa played against him in college. I always heard about him growing up and what a great player he was.

LAFM: You said your grandpa played in college?

Yea, my grandpa played at Northwestern State University. He also went to Minden and played quarterback.  He was a big influence on me and my decision to play football.

LAFM: Who is your favorite player in football today?

Peyton Manning, I like the way he coaches and leads his team. It’s like he knows exactly what to do all the time. He is an amazing player.

LAFM: If football doesn’t work out, what do you see yourself doing? Have you thought of a major?

People keep asking me that and I am still not sure. I would like to stay in sports so I have been thinking something like Kinesiology and becoming a Physical therapist.

LAFM: What positions are you being recruited for? Which is your favorite position, why?

I am being recruited as a quarterback. It is what I have played all my life, but if I was asked to play another position I would.

LAFM: What schools are recruiting you?

I have been to Henderson State and Southern Arkansas University on recruiting trips.I really liked both of the teams. Henderson is a powerhouse in D2, and  they won the game I went to  by a huge score ( I think 80-2).  I really like the offense they run because it is similar to ours. Many of the schemes are the same. Southern Arkansas University is close to home which I really like. They also run a similar offense which would be easy to transition into.
