LAFM: Name, position, school?

My name is Tre’ Porter, and I am a Safety/LB at Warren Easton High School.

LAFM: Current weight and height?

6-1,  190 lbs

LAFM: Current ACT score and GPA?

I have a 24 on the ACT, and a 2.7 GPA.

LAFM: 40 yard dash, max bench, max squat, max clean?

I run a 4.6 40-yard dash. I bench 265 lbs, squat 405 lbs and clean 225 lbs.

LAFM: How is the season going for you and your team?

It has been a great season. After going 5-5 last year, we only have 2 losses this season. Also, we are still progressing every week.

LAFM: I know the team just had a tough, close game against Belle Chase this past weekend, any comments?

We just knew that we were not going to lose. Belle Chasse executed their game plan really well. Still, we came through and got the game into overtime. On defense, we knew we had to step up and make a stop. Thankfully, we were able to do so, the offense scored, and we won the game.

LAFM: What has been your best game so far this season?

I have not had just one best game, but have played really consistent football every week.

LAFM: Who is your favorite football player of all time?

I do not have any one favorite, but I do like Ed Reed. He is a ball-hawk and big time play maker. He always makes big time plays in big situations.

LAFM: How old were you when you started playing and where?

I started playing football when I started high school in 9th grade. Before that, I played basketball.

LAFM: Do you have any family members or friends that have had a big influence on you as you play football?

My brother played football at Warren Easton when I was still playing basketball. He got me hooked on football once I hit high school.

LAFM: If football does not work out for you, what do you see yourself doing? Have you thought of a major in college?

I would love to be a sports analyst, or an architect.

LAFM: Are there any schools that are recruiting you? Do you have any favorites?

I am committed to McNeese. They have a good program and I really like the coaching staff. I went there for a game and really liked the facilities and everything about the school.

LAFM: What positions are you being recruited for? What is your favorite positions and why?

McNeese is recruiting me to play the Rover position. I could also end up playing some outside LB.

LAFM:  What makes your team a specila team?

Everybody is playing on the same page. Everyone is listening and carrying out the coach’s game plan. That is the reason why we are winning so many games. Everyone is clicking. Everybody is playing on the same page.

LAFM: Outside of football what makes your school special?

They have good people and good teachers that care about you. It is a great school.
