LAFM: Name, position, school?

My name is Steven Dunbar, and I am a WR for Rummel High School.

LAFM: Current height and weight?

6-2, 185 lbs

LAFM: Current ACT score and GPA?

18, 3.0 GPA

LAFM: 40 yard dash, Max Bench Press, Max cleans, Max Squat, and vertical?

I rune a 4.6 40/yard dash. My max bench is 245, squat 365, and vertical is 36.

LAFM: How is the season going for you and your team?

It started off ok. We are a really young team, so we are still learning and evolving. Our next game against Holy Cross will really test us.

LAFM: What has been your best game so far this season?

My best game was probably against Baton Rouge Catholic High School. I had 7 receptions for 104 yards.

LAFM: Who is your favorite football player of all time?

Jerry Rice-I feel like I resemble him as a player. I aspire to be like him. I try to model my game after him.

LAFM: How old were you when you started playing and where?

I was 6 years old when  I started playing at Oakdale Playground.

LAFM: Do you have any family members or friends that have had a big influence on you as you play football?

My mom has definitly had an influence on my football careerr. She always chose to push me and never give up on me. She taught me you have to work for success because it is never going to be easy. I can only get success by working hard.

LAFM: If football does not work out for you, what do you see yourself doing? Have you thought of a major in college?

I would like to major in Civil Engineering.

LAFM: Are there any schools that are recruiting you? Do you have any favorites?

I had ULL, ULM, LA Tech, and Western Kentucky recruting me, but I commited to the University of Houston. It was not too far but not too close. I felt really appreciated by the coaches, and I felt like the position coach could make me better. Its a great place for my parents to visit and not that far away.

LAFM: What positions are you  being recruited for? What is your favorite positions and why?

I am being recruited as a WR. WR is definitely my favorite position because it is a game changer type of position. You can make huge plays and change momentum. It gives you a chance to pick your team up when they are down.

LAFM: What makes your school special?

Our tradition makes our school special. Some people do not understand our tradition and how special it is to us. As a Rummel Student, we realize in everything we do that we are representing our school and community. Anything you are doing, you know you are a Raider. It puts a chip on you shoulder and helps you do the right thing.
