LAFM: Name, position, school?

My name is Austin Darbonne, and I am a RB/WR from Oberlin High School.

LAFM: Current weight and height?

5-10,  195 lbs

LAFM: Current ACT score and GPA?

23 ACT GPA 4.0

LAFM: 40 yard dash, max bench, max squat?

I run a 4.5 40-yard dash. My max bench is 315, and squat is 600.

LAFM: How did the season go for you and the team?

Our team made it to the 2nd round of playoffs and had a winning season. Besides being hurt for about 3-4 weeks, I played well and enjoyed this year’s team.

LAFM: What has been your best game this season?

My best game was probably the first game of the season against Iota High School. I broke 2 runs each for about 60 to 70 yards.

LAFM: Who is your favorite football player of all time?

I have two favorite players: Danny Woodhead, and Wes Welker. They are both shifty fast guys who are slightly undersized. I have a similar play style to both of them.

LAFM: How old were you when you started playing and where?

I was about 6 or 7 years old when I started playing pee wee football.

LAFM: Do you have any family members or friends that have had a big influence on you as you play football?

My brother (Lance Monceaux) is a big influence on me. He was supposed to go play football at LSU before he got hurt his senior year.

LAFM: If football does not work out for you, what do you see yourself doing? Have you thought of a major in college?

I want to go into physical therapy. It is good money and I get to stay around sports.

LAFM: Are there any schools that are recruiting you? Do you have any favorites?

I have gotten letters from schools such as ULL, Louisiana College, and Southern Nazarene University which is in Oklahoma. I have also had some attention from different DIII schools. I have no favorites and have not applied anywhere as of now.

LAFM: What positions are you being recruited for? What is your favorite positions and why?

I am being recruited as a slot WR. My favorite position is WR. I really love catching the ball, and I rather catch than just run.

LAFM: What was something special about your team this year?

I felt like we were stronger than all the opponents we faced this year. We had a great defense with a stud LB core. On offense, our OL were extremely good.

LAFM: Outside of football, what makes your school special?

I like the people. Everybody here is friendly. It is a small community where everybody knows everybody.
