Video Recruit Spotlight: Center T.R. Clausen, Episcopal High School, Class of 2012

February 23, 2012 – T.R. Clausen is mentioned as a D2 or D3 player for upside at the moment.  The reason I’m talking about him is because pound for pound he’s the best blocker I saw in the state that was 40 pounds under his needed weight, and he played like he was 270 pounds as a Center for Episcopal High School in Baton Rouge. T.R. played his junior year at 6-4 in height and 205 pounds and his senior year at about 215 to 220 pounds.  If this kid decides he wants to play football in college I truly believe that if he gains 50 pounds on his 6-4 frame in two years he could become an All Conference Center with hard work at the right IAA school or Mid Major DI school as a Walk on.  I just saw something in this kid, and the only thing I thought was missing was being filled out to his frame.  T.R.  has  close to a 30 ACT and can go to school anywhere for academics alone.  Since the video was made we don’t know whether T.R. has decided to play football in college, but he is probably going to college for academics.
