November 29, 2010 – Louisiana has a kid named Jermauria Rasco, a Defensive End from Evangel Christian High School, who is ranked in the top 5 in the nation of all time in sacks with over 60 in his career for a High School Football player.  He’s also one of the nicest kids you will ever meet in recruiting. I had a chance to meet Rasco three years ago working a camp in Shreveport with good friend Byron Dawson and current Defensive Coordinator for the Evangel Christian football team. I’ve visited Evangel Christian three times since and every time I talk to this young man I come away super impressed.  You would not think he was a big time recruit because he’s so shy and humble off the field and is a nice young man.

This year, Rasco has 86 tackles, 20 Sacks, 2 Interceptions, and 5 Fumble Recoveries. Some kids don’t have that in a career much less one season.  Jermauria Rasco stands a true 6-2 and a half, and weighs 250 pounds of lean muscle build. What I like about this kid is he reads and reacts to the ball every snap, and can run so well for being 250 in weight. I predict that when he gets stronger in the upper body in college, and goes a full year in the college weight room Rasco will weigh 260 to 265 and be a big time Defensive pass rushing End for some lucky school.

Jermauria Rasco carries a 3.1 GPA and has a 23 on the ACT test. His top schools right now are Texas, Alabama, LSU, Florida State, and Florida. Rasco only took one official visit so far to Florida State, and he liked it. The Texas Longhorns and LSU have recruited him the longest, and Florida has started to recruit him harder as of late and so has Alabama. I feel like in the end it will come down to Texas and LSU.

As of now, Rasco is wide-open and clear cut leader for his services.
