By Reid Althage
LAFM: Name, position, school?
My name is Jarrett Elliott, and I am a OL for Comeaux High School.
LAFM: Current weight and height?
6-2, 275 lbs
LAFM: Current ACT score and GPA?
22 ACT 3.5 GPA
LAFM: Max bench, max squat, max clean?
My max bench is 300 lbs, max squat 475 lbs, and clean 265 lbs.
LAFM: How did the season go for you and the team?
It went pretty good and better than I expected. On a team level, I thought we played unselfishly this year and as a unified team. We finished 6-5 on the year.
LAFM: What has been your favorite game this season?
Acadiana-For me personally it was the game in which I faced the most competition. Number 91 is a great player for them as well as the rest of their DL. I enjoy playing against tough opponents.
LAFM: Who is your favorite football player of all time?
I think as of right now, I would have to say Brandon Albert the LT for the Chiefs. I also like Ben Grubbs for the Saints. My all time favorite is probably DE Deacon Jones. He was nasty.
LAFM: How old were you when you started playing and where?
I was in 7th grade so about 12 years old.
LAFM: Do you have any family members or friends that have had a big influence on you as you play football?
I would say my dad. I see his hard work ethic in everything he does. It makes me strive for that mentality and work harder in everything I do.
LAFM: If football does not work out for you, what do you see yourself doing? Have you thought of a major in college?
I want to be a pastor in a church if football does not work out. I am heavy on my faith. I want to major in business because I feel like that would help me run a church.
LAFM: Are any schools recruiting you right now?
Nicholls and Northwestern are two schools that are recruiting me. McNeese is slightly recruiting me as well.
LAFM: What positions are you being recruited for? What is your favorite position?
I am being recruited as a Guard or Center. My favorite position before this year was LT, but now I enjoy Guard. I love pulling and nailing people. I love being able to embarrass a safety every now and then when they come down to my level.
LAFM: What was something special about your team this year?
This is our first winning season since 2005. It was the first time we made the playoffs since then as well.
