LAFM: Name, position, school?

My name is Edgar Jackson, and I played OLB for East Jefferson High School.

LAFM: Current height and weight?

5-10,  218 lbs

LAFM: Current ACT score and GPA?

21 ACT,  3.0 GPA

LAFM: 40-yard dash, max bench, and max squat?

I run a 4.6 40-yard dash. My max bench is 325 and max squat is 535.

LAFM: How did it feel to play in the dome? How does it feel to be a State Champion?

The dome was wonderful. It was big, loud, and the fans were awesome. Becoming a State Champion was a wonderful experience. Words cannot describe it really. It still feels great every day when I wake up.

LAFM: What has been your best game this season?

My best game was in the 4th round of the playoffs against Neville High School. We proved many people wrong by winning that game. I had about 13 tackles along with 3 sacks.

LAFM: Who is your favorite football player of all time?

Von Miller-I love his game. He is a dynamic pass rusher. I love pass rushing and that is what I base my game after. His pass rushing ability is amazing.

LAFM: How old were you when you started playing and where?

I was 4 years old when I started to play park ball.

LAFM: Do you have any family members or friends that have had a big influence on you as you play football?

My mom and immediate family have all been an influence on me. My cousin Edward Paris is a Commit to LSU right now. He has been a big influence on me as well.

LAFM: If football does not work out for you, what do you see yourself doing? Have you thought of a major in college? Why?

I am going to major in athletic training. That way if football does not work out, I can still stay on the football field.

LAFM: Are there any schools that are recruiting you? Any favorites?

Their is Grambling, Southeastern, Southern, Louisiana Lafayette, and Nichols. I would say Grambling has a little bit of a lead on the others. They have been taking to me alot and I really like how they are planning to rebuild the program. I would like to be part of the outlier group who stands out and helps bring Grambling football back to what it used to be.

LAFM: What positions are you being recruited for? What is your favorite positions and why?

I am being recruited as a LB. OLB is my favorite because I love rushing the passer.

LAFM: What do you bring to whichever school you choose to go play for?

First of all I am a hard worker. I am a two time First Team All-State Selection. I am a film room bug. I love the film room. Lastly, I love to make my teammates around me better. That is better on the football field as well as in the classroom.

LAFM: Looking back at this past year, what made this years team special?

Our work ethic is the one thing that stands out. We were just hard working from day 1 in the summer. Nothing was given to us. We were dedicated and knew we wanted it more than anyone else. At the end of the day, we worked hard for what we earned. What we earned was a State Championship.
