LAFM: Name, position, and School?

My name is Lane Batiste, and I played football for Carencro High School. I am now signed to play at East Central Community College.

LAFM: Current height and weight?

6-1, 266 lbs

LAFM:  Any impressive accolades or stats?

I was First Team All-District and First Team All-Acadiana.

LAFM: When did you first get in touch with the East Central? Were you excited when they offered?.

I got in touch with them the Thursday before we got out of school for spring break.  I went and visited them last Wednesday.

LAFM: What are some things you liked about your visit and East Central?

I liked the campus. I liked what the coaches are doing with the team as well.

LAFM: Who are some people that stand out as major factors helping you along the way of your recruiting process?

I would say my parents. They helped me out by bringing me to these colleges and gave me a lot of support. They talked me through the whole process and helped me make my decision.

LAFM: What do you bring to the East Central football Program as a player?

I try to be a leader on and off the field. I bring an aggressiveness to each play. I feel as though I have good speed for my size. I want to be a playmaker for my team and help them win in any way that I can.

LAFM: What is one thing you think that you need to improve upon or adjust to going to the next level?

I have to improve on my  pass rush, and I think I can improve on my run stopping ability as well. I really feel like I can improve in many areas in order to better prepare myself for college ball.

LAFM: What advice would you give on the recruiting process to the 2015 class?
Keep putting in the hard work. Not just on the field but off it as well. You need to work hard in the classroom. Be patient and continue to work hard.
LAFM: How do you think Carencro is going to do for this upcoming season?
I think they will be very successful this upcoming year.  I think the offense will be firing and putting up points on people. The defense is looking good as well, so they should be successful.

LAFM: How has Carencro High School prepared you for college and football at the next level?

At Carencro, we never give up on each other. Everybody here is family, and we help each other in many different ways. They helpd me become the leader I am today on and off the football field.
