As the month of July approaches, so does football season. As it is every other day here at Louisiana Football Magazine, it has been pretty busy especially over the last three months when we have conducted our Louisiana Football Magazine photo shoots over that time period. We have finished our 23rd annual magazine cover shoot, but this year will mark the third straight year in which we have conducted both a North and South photo shoot. This year, we shot the North photo shoot at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches and we shot the South photo shoot at Catholic High School in Baton Rouge. Both events were really successful, and we would like to thank everybody who has helped us make both events so special for the players that were involved. Besides taking the photos, Louisiana Football Magazine’s owner Lee Brecheen and editor Jace LeJeune got the chance to talk to some of the top Class of 2020 players in the state of the Louisiana. Both Brecheen and LeJeune talked to the recruits about their top schools, goals for the upcoming season, hobbies, and so much more. We still have another full month to go, but in order to help count down the days until football season, we will post these video interviews that were taken at both photoshoot events to help you get through that time!

In today’s recruit interview, we go to Catholic High School where Brecheen got the chance to talk to DeQuincy High School senior ATH Cooper Hext!

Cooper Hext: Last season, the DeQuincy Tigers had one of its most successful seasons winning seven games including two playoff games in order to advance to the Class 2A Quarterfinals. A major reason for the Tigers’ breakout season was from its District Offensive MVP Cooper Hext. No matter the position, the 5-11, 16o pound upcoming senior was going to deliver as the team’s best playmaker. Many times, Hext would line up at wide receiver, running back, cornerback, or even quarterback. He is just one of those do everything players that can play wherever the team needs him to play. Last season, Hext led the Tigers to their deep playoff run with an incredible 1,997 all-purpose yards and 22 total touchdowns. Not only Hext is a do everything football player, but in general, he is a do everything athlete as he is a very talented baseball player as well. Heading into the 2019 season, the expectations are really high for the Tigers after having the type of eye opening season in 2018. With playmakers like Hext and fellow playmaking wide receiver Braylon Snell, the sky is the limit for the Tigers to make an even deeper playoff run this upcoming season.

In today’s recruit video spotlight, we go to Catholic High School where Brecheen caught up with senior ATH Cooper Hext to talk about the team’s goals for the upcoming season, the sport he wants to play in college, and so much more! Check out the interview below!

After watching all these interviews, if you are wondering about when both our North and South magazines will be released, it will be some time in August before the magazines will be distributed. However, do not worry as if you pre-order your copies below, you will receive your copies once the magazines are ready to be released!
