DeQuincy High School is a high school out of DeQuincy, Louisiana. Their mascot is the Tigers and their colors are red and white. DeQuincy has some talent of their football team, and it does not go unnoticed. They have a dynamic duo on offense. Braylon Snell and Cooper Hext are two players on the team that anytime they have the ball in their hands they could take it the distance. The two had fantastic seasons last year and are looking to have even bigger seasons this year.
Braylon Snell caught 36 passes last season for 726 yards and nine touchdowns. That is a solid stat especially with the average yards per catch and averaging a touchdown every four catches he makes. I talked to Braylon about how he feels the team has down this season so far and how he thinks the rest of the season will go.
"I feel like we are going to be pretty solid," Snell said. "We had a few mistakes and errors here and there, but we make some changes and we are getting better every single day. As long as we play together as a team and help each other, we are looking to have a great rest of the season.”
Cooper Hext is the other half to the dynamic receiving core for the Tigers and had a stat stuffing season last year. He almost broke 2,000 all-purpose yards and eclipsed 25 touchdowns. That is a great season by anyone’s standards, and they are looking to do even better this season.
DeQuincy has a very talented team, especially with these two on the field. They must have a great supporting cast, and the team must be one big family. Dequincy is a force to be reckoned with if these two have seasons like they did last year.
