Louisiana College Team Football Notes for the 2024 Season and Predictions.

2023 Record 11-3

2024 Prediction 10-2 & 11-3 with a playoff win. Losses to Alabama , and somewhere lose a game they are not supposed to lose a  Conference team or a team like USC early. LSU hasn’t won an opener since the 2019 away game against Texas in Austin.I changed my mind several times with this season prediction .I do think coaching for LSU new hires been impressed with Spring and and as the season goes on the Defense will go from one of the worst Defenses i saw in the history of the program in 2023 to above average by the end of the 2024 season and the Offense will be one of the best again in the US.

Trap Game on the road South Carolina. The game will be sold out and LSU will have a tough time getting fired up for this one on the road.

Interesting last home game of the season Oklahoma. By the time LSU faces Oklahoma they will feel the wear and tear of the brutal 1st time SEC Schedule with a not so ready team for this last game. Welcome to the Gauntlet of the SEC Oklahoma. The toughest Conference in America Sooners.

Teams who can win games against LSU. Running the ball right at you against LSU  Alabama, at home, and Ole Miss at Home. LSU's lack of Depth inside (Defensive Tackle) will have a tough time stopping downhill run teams with good Offensive Lines. LSU's offense will be exciting and one of the best in the country again.I think the hidden 12th man is LSU loud fans at home for big games.

How will I be wrong with my prediction in the end. LSU's new Defensive coaching hires will not be able to hide a few weaknesses on Defense(Defensive Tackle) and  the the pass rush will not be there for  with a bunch of talented Defensive Ends and struggle to cover  all year back end of the secondary and lose to Ole Miss,Alabama & USC.

Key to the Offense. Find an RB to rush for over 1,200 yards plus with over 15 touchdowns take pressure off Nuss at QB. That guy could be Kaleb Jackson. In 2022 and 2023 QB Jayden Daniels was the LSU RB for the past 2 years.

‍

I predict the LSU/Ole Miss game winner gets the 4th spot in the playoffs from an SEC school 4 out of the 12 total. I have LSU going along with Texas, Alabama  & Georgia.I went back and forth on this one and changed my mind several times. I dont think LSU loses to both Ole Miss and Alabama at home. LSU fans will help LSU win the Ole Miss in a close one at home.

The only difference I think the 2024 team compared to the LSU 2023 team. LSU has more depth at Defensive Back and possibly the best power with speed RB to start for LSU since Jeremy Hill, in So RB Kaleb Jackson. I think the SEC because of the portal will be more even in talent and depth than ever before among teams outside of Georgia, Texas Alabama, and Ole Miss that are top heavy loaded with older players in all positions.

2024 Prediction 9-3 and Bowl game 10-3. The conference is weaker than 2 years ago. Talent is still there for Tulane but a new QB and a few new players in the depth chart means a semi-regroup for the new staff. The strength of the team is an SEC-type Defensive Line & a really good Offensive Line.
