The Sports Scouting Report Podcast With Lee Brecheen Episode 44: Former Nicholls State Linebacker and Defensive Line Coach Dustin Gisclair On Colonels’ Success and Family Friend LSU Head Coach Ed Orgeron Winning A National Championship

by Jace LeJeune

For Friday's episode of the Sports Scouting Report Podcast, Lee interviews former Nicholls State linebacker and defensive line coach Dustin Gisclair. Lee talks to the former coach about his time at not only Nicholls State as both a player and a coach, but also his coaching days at Missouri Southern. Dustin was in Louisiana Football Magazine back when he was a player at South Lafourche High School in 2002 and Dustin reflects back on his playing days with the Tarpons. The Gisclair family has always been around football as Dustin's younger brother Russ Gisclair is the current Tight Ends coach at Nicholls State and Dustin's dad was a longtime coach at South Lafourche High School and was also best friends with LSU Head Coach Ed Orgeron growing up. Dustin talks about his dad's relationship with the National Championship winning head coach and the family's reaction when Coach Orgeron not only got the LSU head coaching job, but when he helped brought the Tigers to a National Championship. Other topics that will be discussed on today's show is the emergence of Nicholls State becoming a National Championship contender in 2020, LSU's chances of repeating as National Champions, opinions on how football will be played this season during the Coronavirus pandemic, and much more!
