‍2024 Louisiana Football Magazine Preseason

All Louisiana North Sleeper Team Defense by Lee Brecheen.

Class 2025 Seniors only. Some players we were not able to get in touch with but saw them play. Have been a scout since 1991.‍

The Sleeper Team are the best kids I saw play that are under the radar going into their senior year.

‍

DE Jatarian Montgomery 5-10 235 Huntington. I think, and head coach Steve Dennis, thinks this kid can go play some D2 or D3 football and be a starter. He's really mature for his age, a big time leader from meeting the kid. GPA 3.1. Could be a MLB for the right school too. Kid is quick for size.

DE Tyler Davidson 6-4 225 Benton. Injuries have kept him as a sleeper the last 2 years. If he can stay healthy a full year is the key. Looking forward to seeing him play again. Tough gritty player and strong. 1st offers from Millsaps & Centenary. GPA 3.48. Summer camped at Millsaps College.

DE Ben Good 6-0 240 Menard. Tough kid with good feet. D2 or D3 sleeper. 2023 Stats: 4 sacks with 30 tackles. Tough kid. Could bulk up and be a DT too in college.

DE Kaleb Williams 6-3 218 Ruston Sleeper new starter in 2024. Runs a 4.89 forty. 2024 will answer where he can go for college to show colleges his full upside. Has over 3.0 GPA & Act 24. Really smart kid and one of the biggest sleeper Defensive Ends in the State.

DE Thailand Walker 6-4 238 Delhi Charter. Looks the DI part in build but raw and still new to football. 2024 big year for this kid to show some tape to the college. Would be a steal for a D2 or D3 college. Coach Storm Ridgeway loves his future.

DE Myuan Carey 6-0 240 Benton. Not tall but a tough kid to move and has good feet. D2 sleeper and could be a star player at the D2 level in college. Starting DT For his high school. GPA 2.7 & Act 18. This Summer camped at Harding U and Louisiana Christian. 2023 stats: 53 tackles, 2 Sacks, 7 tackles for loss, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 td from a fumble recovery.

DT Michael Bunn 6-0 300 Grant. New starter. From Florida. Keep eye on this kid, moves well and is strong.

DT/NG Lacamerion Kimball 6-0 295 Homer. Sleeper player all muscle. 2024 2nd year to start.

‍

DT/NG Brodie Goudeau 6-2 300 Tioga. Late bloomer & Noseguard for the team and you can't move this kid. He is strong and center for Defense. GPA 3.6 & Act 23.

DT John David Smith 6-0 260 Bunkie. Made this list because he's a leader and tough. OG/DT for the team. GPA over 3.5 & Act 25.

DT Michael Coyle 6-3 270 Plain Dealing. 1st year to play in the program varsity. Very raw but a name to keep eye on. Sat out of the 2023 season. Also will start on the Offensive Line.

DT Jacolvy McCarty 6-3 305 Tensas HS. A raw player with the ability to one day go to a smaller college, develop, and might become a starter. Has good size and moves well.

‍

DT Joshua Hopkins 5-10 285 General Trass. Also starting Offensive Lineman. Forget he's not tall for the position. Kid is a football player. Steal for a small college. Track throws the Javelin and he's pretty good in that sport too. Also teams Kicker.

DT Christian Hersin 6-1 285 Marksville. Also starting OG for the team. Best Lineman on the team. Tough kid. D2/D3 sleeper.

DT Cooper Talley 6-1 270 West Ouachita. IAA Sleeper. Only played in 4 games in 2023 because of an injury. Smart/high effort strong kid. Also will play some TE for the team because he's a good blocker. GPA 3.75 & Act 22.

DT Kobe Scott 6-3 275 Ferriday. Sleeper. Starts both OL & DL for the team. Strong kid and moves well.With a good year will over night become DI for many school has all the stuff you look for.

DT Sanplice Simien 6-1 275 St. Frederick. A 3 year starter tough as nails. Also starter on the Offensive Line in 2024 as a OG. GPA 3.4 & Act score 18.

DE Tyreon Traylor 5-11 240 Union Parish. He’s on this list because he is a big time football player. Throw away height and forty time. Like coach Spatafora says WOW tough. DT for team with feet.

DT Peyton Bell 5-11 255 Ruston 2023 Stats: had 38 tackles with 5 tackles behind the line. Not tall, but a football player. Runs the forty in 5.16. Quick off the snap. Benches 300, Squats 425 & Cleans 300. Summer Camps attended LSU & Louisiana Tech. GPA 3.4 & Act 23

DE Byron Wilcox 6-0 220 Peabody. Sleeper D2 & D3 schools. Has good feet and is strong. Also starter on the Offensive Line. A 3 year starter. Right Tackle on the Offensive Line and Offensive Guard for the team. Benches 280, Squats 425 & Deadlifts 465. GPA 3.87 & Act 19.

MLB Gavin Borland 5-11 200 Grant. Sleeper tough leader. LB for the team. One of the reasons this team has a chance to go far in the playoffs, his leadership and grit for the team on Defense. GPA 3.7 & Act 18.

MLB Montrevion Chatman 5-11 210 Booker T. Washington. A sleeper in 2024. Really had a good Summer and did not play much in 2023. Camped Summer at Southern Arkansas & Northwestern State. Runs a 4.79 forty. Sleeper for many small colleges. Looking to have a breakout year. GPA 3.0

MLB Derrick Haynes 5-10 205 Bossier. Tough kid Sleeper DE for the team too. Tough and the coach said he had a great Spring in 2024. GPA 2.8. Had an injury early on in 2023 so did not have many stats. Made list because kid brings it and a 4 year starter.

MLB Seth Ray 5-10 195 Oak Grove. Heart and Soul of a team with a chance to win three State Titles in a row. Seth has been a part as a leader for both State Titles as a starter. 4 year starter. Also a Baseball Prospect. 2023 Stats 91 tackles, 58 of those solo, 10 tackles behind the line and 3 Sacks. Strong in the weight room max of 405 in the Squats and Hang Clean max 270. 1st offer Louisiana Christian.

MLB Joseph Salvaterra 6-1 205 Arcadia. 2023 stats 45 tackles with 5 forced fumbles. Baseball, one of the best in the District as a 1st Baseman. Does it all for the team Center, DE, MLB, and Long Snapper. Also plays Basketball for the school. GPA 4.0 & Act 26.

OLB Jerrick Edmonds 6-1 195 Beekman Charter. Missed the 2023 season with an injury. TE/LB/DE/WR or team. Runs a legit 4.6 forty. Also a starter in Basketball for the school. 1st team to show interest was Grambling State in the Spring of 2024.

OLB Jerell Howard 5-11 210 Peabody. Sat out 2023 season Transfer from Bolton HS. Can run a legit 4.6 forty. Coach Coleman thinks he has a chance to play college ball with a good SR year.

OLB Peyton Mitchell 6-2 195 St. Mary’s. A bigger player in 2024 and stronger. OT/DE for the team. Has good feet and runs well. Tough kid. D2/D3 Sleeper. GPA 3.9 & Act 19. Has to play positions to help the team win. Team doesn’t have many big players so plays on the line a lot.

OLB Nicholas Coleman 6-1 198 Lincoln Prep. Starter at Center & DT for the team. Great feet and would make a really good OLB in college. Coach Hall thinks he's a sleeper too.

OLB/DE Fred Little 6-3 195 Southwood. Sleeper Late bloomer. Coach thinks he's just scratching the surface even after this upcoming season.

OLB Zydan Williams Avoyelles. 5-11 205. Also RB for the team averaged over 90 yards game in 2023. All District LB in 2023.

OLB Zander Hayes 5-11 195 Ruston. Big time sleeper with 4.58 speed in the forty. 2023 stat had two big time interceptions. Has a chance to get many offers with a good senior season. Starting MLB & some SS for the team in 2024. GPA 3.85 & Act 21

OLB CJ Grigsby 6-2 210 Benton. Kid looks the part long and rangy. Has a lot of weight still to put on which is a good thing. Runs well.Sleeper D2 going into the season .

OLB Shawn Boston 6-0 193 Evangel Christian. 2024 new starter with 4.65 speed. Keeping an eye on him in 2024, will make some noise and move up fast with a good year. Benches 230 & Squats 315. GPA 3.8 & Act 21.

OLB Antonio Nelson 5-11 190 North Caddo. WR/LB for the team. Great Athlete. Might have to start college ball in Junior College. Kid has DI stuff one day.Can run a legit 4.5 forty.

OLB Jordan Hartwell 6-1 190 Arcadia. Runs well and is framed to be 230 in college. Starts both Offensive Tackle & Defensive Tackle for the team with good feet. Missed most 2023 season with an injury. Sleeper. GPA 3.3

OLB Tyson Davis 6-2 205 Vidalia. Looks the part and late bloomer. A lot bigger in 2024 in playing weight and will have a chance to impress in his senior year. Also WR for team. GPA 3.0

LB Landon Fredieu 6-0 191 Grant. A big time leader and part of a strong Linebacker group for the team. 4 year starter.Glue to the teams Defense. GPA 3.1

CB Issac Pickrom 5-10 160 Woodlawn. Track kid learning football with speed. Also WR for the team.2024 year to put name on the map.

CB Xavier Boley 5-8 160 Franklin Parish. Tough big time leader and Athlete. Shut down CB for team. Sleeper D2/D3 colleges. Kid is not scared to tackle anyone. GPA 3.2

CB Kevin Harper 5-9 180 West Ouachita. Strong kid for his size. Benches 300 pounds. Runs a 4.6 forty. Head Coach Rainwater loves his game. Also RB/WR for the team at times. GPA 3.00.

CB Noah Bryant 5-10 170 Marksville. Sleeper with 4.6 speed. WR/Safety/CB for the team. Caught 18 passes in 2023 and had 28 tackles on Defense.

CB Corion Johnson 6-2 155 Southwood.Big time in Track.2023 played Offense WR. 2024 will play both WR & DB.Runs a legit 4.5 in the forty.High Jump in Track ws 39.Also in Track runs the 4x2 & 4x1.GPA 3.8 & Act 18.

CB Byruss Burns 5-9 155 Haynesville. Sleeper because he plays FB/RB/LB for the team. College could make a really good CB at a small school. Has legit 4.6 speed in the forty. GPA 3.8 & Act 19.

CB TJ Jernigan 5-10 170 Natchitoches. Sleeper small college player with some speed and skills. Also a very good student GPA 3.5 & Act 19. Wants to Major in Business in college.

CB Tayshawn Johnson 5-7 150 Arcadia. Big time sleeper 2 way starter for program. Offense a RB & Defense LB with 70 tackles in 2023 along with 7 Tackles for losses, 1 Defensive touchdown & 2 Sacks. 4.55 speed. GPA 3.0

CB Solomon Jammer 5-10 160 Evangel Christian. 1st year to start and has waited his turn to get his chance. A sleeper for small colleges and maybe higher in 2024. High IQ of the game.

CB Christian McGuire 5-9 160 Jonesboro Hodge. Sleeper with football skills for college. Track runs the relays and 100 meters best in District 10.9. Camps Summer went to Tulane & Northwestern State. WR/CB for the team. GPA 4.0 & Act 19

CB Fabian Stringfellow 5-8 160 Ruston. Sleeper with 4.50 speed in the forty. Summer Camped at Louisiana Tech. Strong for his size Squats 315 & Cleans 220. GPA 3.2.

CB Randy Robinson 5-9 162 Bossier. Kid plays 5 positions for the team. WR/RB/CB/FS/SS. Sleeper with 4.59 speed. Great kid. Wants to major in Engineering in college. GPA 3.0.

FS Jayden Lewis 5-11 165 Alexandria. Sleeper with 4.55 speed. Tough and good in coverage. Will only get bigger in college.GPA 3.5

CB Darren Myles 5-11 170 North Caddo. Sleeper Transfer from Northwood HS. Also WR for the team. D2 sleeper.Looking forward to seeing more of his work in 2024.

CB Guy Harbor 6-0 185 Peabody. 2023 missed the whole year with an injury. Sleeper in 2024 with 4.55 speed in the forty.

SS Marcus McClinton 5-10 185 Bastrop. OLB for a team with 4.6 speed. Tough hard worker.A really big time sleeper if he has a great senior year.

SS Jacoby DeWitt 5-10 170 Mansfield. OLB for the team. Big time Football player on the field.Has a high IQ of the game.

SS Titus Stringer 6-0 185 Calvary Baptist. 2023 stats 50 tackles & 5 tackles for loss. Has picked up some speed and leaned up with toughness. A strong 2024 season will move Stringer up really fast in college recruiting. Also a Baseball player for Calvary Baptist. Has an early offer from Hendrix College.

SS Jeremiah Griffin 5-11 185 Wossman. 4.6 speed. Makes plays. OLB for the team too. Sleeper IAA all day.

SS Ty Sanders 5-11 175 Pineville. Sleeper D2 or D3. Gritty football player. Good tackler. Should have his best year in 2024.

SS Peyton Houston 5-9 170 Captain Shreve. Sleeper D2 or D3 with 4.55 speed in the forty. OLB for the team.A strong year will peak the interest of many colleges.Has a high Football IQ of the game.

SS Zion Weeks 6-1 185 Wossman. Playmaker ball hawk I saw in 2023. 4.5 speed in the forty. Also WR for the team. GPA 3.5.Could grow into a OLB in college or play Safety.

SS Matthew Lee 6-1 165 West Ouachita. Been a surprise great off season. Coach calls him a tough player for their Defense. D2 or D3 Sleeper.

SS Bryant Lacour 5-11 175 North Desoto. Starting OLB for the team with 4.6 speed. Tough player sleeper for D2/D3.

SS Haidyn Boone Buckeye. I wanted to list this kid because he's a Football player and leader. Could play D2 or D3 football. Also WR for the team. Also a Baseball prospect.

‍

SS David Donatelli 5-11 170 Captain Shreve. A leader with great instincts. New starter in 2024. Had a great Spring.Stats 2023 20 tackles with 2 interceptions in limited playing time. Camped Summer ULM. A 3 Sport Athlete Football, Soccer & Lacrosse. GPA 3.8 & Act 21.

SS Levi Ezell 5-11 162 Delhi Charter. This kid is one of the strongest players pounds for pound in Louisiana. Squats over 500 pounds and loves to hit. If I was a D2 or D3 school I would give this kid a chance. Tough as nails on the field. 2024 will be only his 2nd year to play football. LB/FB for team. GPA 3.2 & Act 24.

SS Preston Barnes 5-11 185 Avoyelles. LB for team and big time leader. Over 100 tackles in 2023. Also starting TE for the team.

‍

SS Lionel Scott 5-10 190 Ferriday. OLB for the team. Great Athlete with 4.6 speed. Tough hitter.

‍

SS Jaydan Gladney 6-0 195 Airline. A smart football player with a high IQ of the game. Leader also for the team. 2023 stats 54 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, 1 sack and 3 interceptions. Sleeper for D2 or IAA in the end. Linebacker for the program but size is more suited for Strong Safety I think for the higher level and smaller schools could play OLB. Also starts on the Basketball team for the school, made All Parish in Basketball and the 3 point champion in LHSBCA in 2024. GPA 3.9 & Act 21

Long Snapper AJ Jacola 6-2 230 St. Frederick. A 3 year starter coming off an injury in 2023. Sleeper Long Snapper. Also starting Linebacker for team.Grew up a big LSU fan. Open to all colleges.GPA 4.0 & Act 26

Long Snapper Shelton Mateo Guerrero 6-1 185 Bossier. Kid does everything for the team. 4 year starter in 2024 as a TE/DE/LSP. I think he could be a sleeper LSP for the right college if given a chance in football. Also starts in Track/Cross Country regional & state qualifier in 800 meters, 4x800 regional in 2022 and throws the Javelin. Basketball team a captain State Championship 2023 and Soccer State Runner up in 2023. GPA 4.26 & Act 23.

Punter Davion Davis 5-10 255 Mansfield. Big guy with a strong leg. Also starting Left Tackle for the Offensive Line.

‍

‍Punter Seth Mangrum 5-6 160 Glenbrook. A really good WR/DB for the program with 4.6 speed in the forty but could get a shot as a Punter for a number of D2 or D3 schools.
