Spotlight Recruit: 5 Players from Carroll High School in Monroe, Louisiana
Class of 2025 Recruit Spotlight: 5 Players from Carroll High School in Monroe, Louisiana
The four players we will discuss today are:
- Jeremiah Sims (Center, 6’3”, 305 lbs)
- Laven Roy (DE/LB, 6’1”, 215 lbs)
- Jaden Williams (WR/CB, 6’3”, 191 lbs)
- Jordan Brisco (WR/CB, 5’9”, 165 lbs)
- Darius Briggs (SS, 6’0”, 190 lbs)
In my opinion, all of these Class of 2025 seniors are Division I prospects and hidden sleepers. I had the opportunity to watch these athletes play in 2023, except for Jaden Williams, and I was thoroughly impressed with their skill sets, which I believe are good enough for them to become starters at the college level.
- Jeremiah Sims has excellent footwork for a big athlete.
- Brisco, Roy, and Briggs are all tough, fast players who possess the necessary skills for success at the next level.
Head Football Coach Bernard Harris of Carroll High School also provided insights about Jaden Williams, who transitioned to football as a first-year player in 2024 after playing basketball.
Coach Bernard Harris’ Insights on the Recruits
I recently had the chance to speak with Coach Bernard Harris of Carroll High School in Monroe, Louisiana. He shared updates on these talented athletes, who I observed in 2023.
- Jeremiah Sims:
"Jeremiah is a great leader who would be an excellent fit at center in college. He is a selfless player who would do anything for his team, making him a valuable asset at the next level." - Laven Roy:
"Laven started as a strong safety but transitioned to defensive end, where he excelled and made All-District. He’s a strong student and a coachable player who would be a steal for any college program." - Jaden Williams:
"Jaden is a four-year basketball starter who joined football this year. As the season progressed, he became one of our best players. He has the potential to develop into a strong contributor at the next level." - Darius Briggs:
"Darius is a versatile player who is quicker than he appears. He’s a solid tackler in open space and an all-around football player." - Jordan Brisco:
"Jordan is an explosive athlete who would be an asset at the next level. He has experience playing quarterback, wide receiver, and defensive back during his career at Carroll High School, showcasing exceptional skills."
