Recruit Spotlight: St. Martin’s High School Offensive Linemen – Seniors Who Blocked for the #1 RB in the United States
By Lee Brecheen
In 2024, people who follow recruiting became familiar with the #1 running back in the U.S. Class of 2025, Harlem Berry (Signed with LSU) from St. Martin’s High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. I interviewed Harlem Berry three years ago for our TV show, The Sports Scouting Report Podcast, available on YouTube or wherever you get your podcasts.
During his career, Harlem Berry recorded 8,571 rushing yards and 142 touchdowns as a running back. As a receiver, he had 52 catches for 888 yards and 12 touchdowns. However, not much has been mentioned about the offensive line behind his success. Today, I want to highlight quotes from three senior offensive linemen from St. Martin’s – Cole Lacoste, Zach Kelly, and Daniel Fink – as well as a quote from St. Martin’s head coach Kevin Dizer and one from Harlem Berry himself.
Harlem Berry (LSU Signee) on His Offensive Line:
"Even though they weren’t the biggest and strongest, those guys I had were some dogs, and every Friday, they fought to be the best," said RB Harlem Berry.

Daniel Fink (6-3, 290 lbs.)
*"Being a part of this offensive line as a starter for three years has been special because of the success and brotherhood that came with it. Harlem is special because of his world-class speed and vision. He could hit just about any gap, no matter how small. Harlem made it super easy to block for him with his speed and agility, allowing us to hold our blocks for just a second or two before he was already ten yards downfield. With Harlem, we had a lot more room for error and still succeeded.
I am going to LSU-A and majoring in Aviation."*
Zach Kelly (6-0, 260 lbs.)
*"Being on the offensive line at St. Martin’s was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. It taught me how to be selfless, disciplined, and tough—three traits necessary to become a successful Saint. I’ve also made friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.
What made our line so special was that we all played on both sides of the ball, which is not an easy thing to do, especially in the trenches. Another reason we were so special was our chemistry. We had great chemistry on and off the field, and it was very easy to get along with these guys. We always kept each other in check.
It was an honor to block for Harlem Berry. He is an incredibly talented player and a great teammate and friend. I wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
I will be attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL), where I plan to major in Business Administration."*
Cole Lacoste (5-9, 195 lbs.)
*"I believe that the chemistry our offensive line had, along with our belief that we could beat any team we faced, is what made us such a strong unit.
Harlem made blocking easy for us because of his elite speed and agility. Due to his quickness, we only had to block for 2-3 seconds before he was already ten yards downfield. Additionally, his vision was excellent—he could find and hit even the smallest gaps. Even if we missed a block or made a mistake, Harlem had a way of maneuvering around defenders and still making a positive play.
I am currently considering Rhodes College and Tulane, where I plan to major in Pre-Med."*
