Floyd Flugence

Part 1 of 2. Part 2 will feature Crowley Defensive Tackle Ricky Webb, Class of 2025.
School: Crowley High School, Class of 2025
Position: Athlete
Some players are big-time hidden gems, and today we’ll talk about one such player: Class of 2025 Athlete Floyd Flugence from Crowley High School. In my opinion, he’s as hidden as they come in today’s world of recruiting.
I’ve watched Floyd’s full game film, and he’s a big-time DI player with size, speed, and power. Floyd is fully qualified for college. Over my 30-plus years of scouting, I’ve seen many great players from Crowley High School, including Wes Jacob (WR, LSU), Chucky Patton (RB, USL), Shane Garrett (WR, Texas A&M), Peter Lawrence (Athlete, USL), Orlando Thomas (Athlete, USL), and Davante Bourque (RB, Tennessee). I’d put Floyd in that small but elite group of players with tremendous college potential.
Floyd stands at 6’0½”, weighs 190 pounds, and runs a 4.5-second 40-yard dash. If you saw him play in person this year as an opponent, I’m sure the conversation was, “Wow, he’s big-time! Where is this kid being recruited?”
In 2024, Floyd ran for 1,110 yards with 17 touchdowns and, as a wide receiver, caught 18 passes for 403 yards and 2 touchdowns. He has offers from Grambling State, Butler Community College in Kansas, and Arkansas Pine Bluff, where he will be taking a visit on January 24th.
“Lee, I think Floyd can be a great wide receiver in college. He played running back for our team, but he can jump out of the gym and run like a deer. I wish I had four full years to coach him. As you know, this past year was my first as the head coach at Crowley High School,” said Eric Cooley, Head Football Coach of Crowley High School.
“I feel really good about Grambling State, Butler JC in Kansas, and Arkansas Pine Bluff. All are great colleges,” said Floyd Flugence. “I can see myself playing slot or outside wide receiver, either one in college. I think I can be versatile in any offense, and if they give me a chance, I can get the job done.”
