South Terrebonne Quarterback Christian Arceneaux Eyeing To Shatter Records This Season

by Jay Parker

Christian Arceneaux had nothing short of a spectacular junior year last fall. He passed for 1,589 yards and 17 touchdowns on a shortened season playing only eight games. He was named Co-District Offensive MVP, an honorable mention on the All-State team, and was nominated for Bayou Regional Offensive Player of the Year. This season, he is set to break a record for the Gators He now stands only 600 yards short of breaking his school record in all-time passing yards.

“I’m hoping to break the record by Week 3,” said Arceneaux.

Returning to assist Arceneaux with this feat will be his entire offensive line led by senior Brance Wunstell and the junior versatile running back Javon Ricks. The Gators went 2-6 in the regular season last year, but behind Arceneaux and a strong senior class, the Gators are posed to make a run next fall.

“I’m ready to lead my team deep in the playoffs,” said Arceneaux.

He is still undecided on where he is attending , but is getting looks to play at the next level. Schools such as Nicholls, Louisiana , and Southern have shown interest in Arceneaux at the quarterback position. He is keeping his option open when looking into s.

“I’m looking for a that has a good athletics program and a good education.”

Arceneaux is the prime size for a football quarterback. He stands at 6 foot 5 inches and 215 pounds while running a 4.9 second forty-yard dash. He benched 250 pounds and squats 325 pounds while also power cleaning 235 pounds. Arceneaux compared his playing style to Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes in their similar ability to create opportunities for the athletes around them when the play breaks down. Not just an athlete in the weight room and on the football field, Arceneaux also has a 4.1 GPA and is looking to be a physical therapist.
