One position that always gets overlooked by colleges in recruiting is Slot/WR. Most kids at this spot are between 5'7" and under 6'0". Many players in Louisiana have the speed, hands, and toughness to play college ball and fit this profile. These are some of the best athletes in Louisiana who often get overlooked by colleges.

One of those types of kids we will talk about today is Pineville HS Class of 2025 WR, Landon Grimes. Landon stands about 6'1" and weighs 180 pounds. He has been timed in track, running the 100 meters in 10.9 seconds and the 40-yard dash as fast as 4.46 seconds. Landon is a WR/Kick Returner for the Pineville Rebels. He has true 4.5 speed and is a 600-pound max squatter in the weight room.

Landon has great hands and is a student of the game. Currently, he has offers from Hendrix College, Lyons College, Minnesota West, and North Vermillion College. He also has interest from Lamar U, Southeast Oklahoma, McNeese State, Northwestern State, Southern Arkansas, Henderson State, Nelson U, and ULL.

'I think Landon can play DI/IAA or at a high D2 program in the end,' said coach Jameson Brown, Wide Receivers Coach for Pineville HS.
