School: St. Michael the Archangel
Position: RB
Height: 5'7
Weight: 180
John’s past season showcased his impressive skills as a running back, rushing for nearly 1,200 yards and earning all-district, all-metro, and all-state honorable mention honors. A major highlight was breaking the single-game rushing record with 257 yards. Under Coach Leger’s guidance, John has witnessed the transformation of St. Michael’s football program, which now includes plans for a new stadium and a dedicated website for recruiters to scout the team’s players. “Coach Leger is a great coach who wants to do everything for his players,” he shares, appreciating the coach’s dedication and the positive impact on the team.
John enjoys the running back position for the unique challenges it presents: “I can stay low and run over people. I like to score touchdowns and kind of lead the offense in a way.” So far, he’s received an offer from Grinnell College and has attracted interest from a few Division 1 schools. Outside of football, he spends time playing golf and pickleball, which keeps him active and balanced.
He has a strong interest in Southeastern University, drawn to its safety and location, and has always been a fan of the New Orleans Saints. In college, John plans to major in psychology, aspiring to become a private practice therapist. Football runs in his family, with a father who played fullback in high school and a great uncle who was an all-state running back at Plaquemine.
