This past summer, Marcus received 17 baseball offers from major programs, including Oklahoma, Baylor, Memphis, Dallas Baptist, Tulane, and Alabama, to name a few. In football, he’s in talks with schools like Louisiana Tech, UL, and McNeese State.

Marcus stands at 6'0" and weighs 195 pounds, with a 4.59-second 40-yard dash. In football, he plays FB/TE/LB/DE for his team, and in baseball, he earned All-State honors as an infielder. He is currently committed to Texas State University.

“At the risk of sounding cliché, Marcus is a generational player. From my experience coaching high school sports, he’s built different inside and out. It’s not unusual for him to send videos of himself hitting in the cage all night after a two-hour football practice, in which he never comes off the field. We average 150 plays per football game, and Marcus is on the field for 90% of those plays. He is a menace on the defensive line, drawing double and sometimes triple teams. From the tight end spot, he opens holes like a bulldozer, yet has the softest hands to go up and get a pass with ease. On the baseball field, the teams that give him pitches to hit quickly see the exceptional power in his swing. He has incredible athleticism and a work ethic that is second to none. On top of all this, Marcus is one of the most respectful young men that I’ve had the pleasure to coach,” said Defensive Coordinator and Head Baseball Coach Nick Trosclair of St. Edmund High School in Eunice, Louisiana.
