“Me coming in as the new head coach, I am really happy with our team's summer attendance with workouts, said Kinder’s first-year head coach Justin Reed. “A lot of young kids played in 2022, so we will be an older team with experience. I like this team because we're mature and ready to play some football.On offense, we will run a Pistol Option team and our defense will be a 4-3 overall.”

The offense has a chance to be pretty good in the end for the Yellow Jackets. The

Kinder RB/FS Dante Botley

QB spot will have a new starter in senior Landen Rice (5-10, 185) who is a really good athlete as he was a wide receiver and strong safety last season. The offensive line is returning experience in center Guy Hayes (5-11, 265), senior OT/DE Ty Sonnier (5-8, 180) who is a strong kid, third-year starter senior OL/DL Cam Bellow (5-11, 260) and OG Hunter Sonnier (5-9, 225). The run game has three talented running backs: senior RB/FS Donte Botley (5-10, 185), a returning three-year starter who is a tough and fast runner (4.65 forty), RB/OLB Noah Romero and RB Logan LeBeouf, who is a strong kid with 4.6 speed in the open field.

Kinder Center Guy Hayes

The top wide receiver in the program is WR/CB Brandon Perkins (5-9, 160) with big time 4.5 speed. The defense will also return senior DE Erick Lavan (6-0, 210), senior MLB Ben Fontenot (5-10, 180), OLB Brayson Bowring, a three-year starter as well as several of the offensive players above will also start on defense too.

The special teams returns a very talented kicker/punter in senior Landon Langley (6-1, 160). Langley has a very strong leg and will be counted on in close games in 2023.

The Kinder program got some good news in the off season as the facilities were getting updated with the fieldhouse being repainted . Kinder HS has won State Titles in football in 2013 & 2015. The Yellow Jackets were also state runner-ups in 2020, which was a staff that Reed was a part of as an assistant.
