Head Coach Roderick Moy and his staff brought have revived the program at Abbeville High School. When the coach took over the program was coming off a 1-8 year, and since then he has made this program a playoff regular and these kids have the mindset of winning and hard work. In 2021, the Wildcats advanced to the state semifinals.
"I am excited for this year," Coach Moy said. This will be the same group of seniors I came in with as a coach four years ago. We return five offensive linemen and four starters from the defensive line for the first time since I’ve been here. We have 55 kids in the program on varsity which is a large group for us. I love these kids and the work they have put in and dedication to this football program.”
The offense will be as good as 2022, but will have a new starting QB in Da’Vien Mays who has a cannon arm and can run too. The run game is 80% of the Offense and returns some really good players in Tazavian Andrews (5-6, 180), RB/FB Justin Montgomery (5-8, 170), and some of the younger guys will make their mark in 2023. The offense doesn't pass a lot but they have three starters back that could play for anyone when the ball is put in the air

(6-3, 180), WR Artis Latson (6-2, 185) and WR Derek Arclies (6-3, 175). The offensive line is big time experienced led by OL Xavier Levine (6-2, 230), three-year starting center Ty Detraz (5-10, 200), OL Taylen “Boudain” Turner (5-11, 290), senior OL Jackson Scalisi (6-0, 270) and OG Devron Turner (5-9, 190). This group is as good as any offensive line in Class 3A because they have chemistry, experience and quickness along with strength.

The defense like the offense returns a brick wall for their defensive Line is stout and led by senior Zaylun Williams (5-10, 250) who is one of the best in Louisiana, DE Hakeem Landry (5-11, 210), DE Da’Borian Williams (6-2, 230), DE/OLB/TE Tezavian Stewart (6-4, 235, 4.65 speed) who is a big-time player, transfer Tyran Doucet (5-10, 215) and MLB Lathaniel Tizeno (5-9, 235, 4.65 speed). The secondary is led by FS Kyrese Collins (5-11, 215, 4.6 speed) who is built like a outside linebacker, DB Braylon Moore (5-10, 180), CB/RB Edmar Simon III (5-9, 160, 4.45 speed) and CB/WR Tahj Judge (5-11, 170, 4.59 speed) who is another big-time player for this team.
