Alexandria WR J.T. Lindsey
Alexandria head coach Thomas Bachman will be entering his eighth season at the school. Bachman has had a very successful tenure at Alexandria, which includes a state title appearance in 2020. Bachman graduated from Evangel Christian where he was an All-State WR before earning a scholarship to play football for Texas Tech before transferring to Louisiana (now known as Louisiana Christian). His father, John, was the former head coach of Evangel Christian. John Bachman and also was the Head Football coach for Red River and Calvary Baptist.
“We return the whole offensive line in 2023 and we have a quarterback battle that will go into fall camp among a few players,” Bachman said. “We had a great winter, spring & summer workout during the offseason. I enjoyed building the program and I am excited about the potential we have in 2023 moving forward after losing a few games by seven points or less.
The offense will take shape in September and by then should have a quarterback named among two talented quarterbacks: seniors Bradley Wilson (5-8, 155) and Glenbrook HS transfer Ty Feaster (6-2, 185) who has three years of varsity starting experience before Alexandria HS and has a high IQ of the game.
The offensive line will allow this team to go deep in 2023 led by OG Jacoby Morris (6-1, 295), third-year starter center Cameron Calderon (5-11, 255), OL Brent Bain (5-10, 230), senior OL Hunter Rivette (5-11, 215), OT Caleb Purl (5-10, 230). HB/TE Tanner Townsend (6-0, 210 ) is a great blocker and will help clear out some of the running lanes for the running backs as well.

Regardless of which quarterback wins the job, he will have a great wide receiver group to throw to in senior WR Amyrion Mingo (5-10, 172) who is a four-year starter between his time at Marksville and Alexandria. Mingo can help make big plays every game as he has legit 4.45 speed on the field. There’s also senior WR Jaylon Johnson (6-2, 180, 4.45 speed) who will finally have the chance to show how much of a playmaker he is, WR EJ Scott (4.5 speed), WR/RB Jimmy Duncan, WR Darius Washington (5-7, 150) who has 4.5 speed and soft hands and talented two-way starter WR/CB Jaden Lewis, who transferred from Holy Savior Menard. The run game has a great player back in two-year starter J.T Lindsey who is one of the fastest players in the Alexandria area and has a chance for a monster season in 2023. The run game also has quick and talented senior Tylon Johnson (5-6, 155) who has 4.6 speed but looks faster in space.
Alexandria DT Jeremiah Wright
The defense will be led by some very experienced and talented players in OLB/MLB Aiden Walker (6-2, 221, 4.6 speed) and DT Jeremiah Wright (6-1, 275) who is a third-year starter with good feet and has a motor for days. The Trojans also have talented LB Caleb Andrus (6-2, 210), senior S/OLB Omarion Ford (5-11, 190, 4.55 speed) who is a tough kid, DB/SS Jason Blackwell (5-10, 155) and CB Jaden Lewis (4.5 speed). There are spots to be taken in the defensive line and secondary for fall which in the end the defense could be a big-time Class 5A title defense.
There is currently a kicking battle that will continue going into the fall for and it should work itself out before the season starts.
