This is the strongest group of kids I’ve ever coached,” Archbishop Hannan head coach Corey Bordelon said. “We have five seniors on the offensive line. 2023 Update on the season the Hawks are 0-5, but played a difficult non-district schedule which will pay off in the long run.

In the trenches, the team has some incredibly strong players and leaders back like three-year starter Will Gallien (6-0, 265), three-year starter center/DT Cole Piot (5-11, 270) who made the All-District last season and can squat 600 pounds, OL Nolan Byers (6-1, 295) who is a three-year starter who can squat 715 pounds, DE Luke Higgs (6-2, 220) who was a second-year starter, OT Jake Nolan (5-10, 225) who is a second-year starter, new starter OT/OC Jason Meibaum (6-3, 225) who lettered in 2022, three-year starter NG/DT Corey Charleston (5-11, 235), DE Gavin Guy (5-9, 200, Sr.), three-year starter LB Thomas Tyner (5-11, 190), second-year starter LB Reed Long (5-10, 200) and four-year starter LB Cartez Brown (6-0, 200) who finished second in State in Powerlifting).

The offense will be led by new starting QB Brody Smith (5-11, 165) who was a wide receiver and defensive back last season. The Hawks will have key skill players in CB/WR Hayden Alonzo (6-2, 180) who is a three-year starter with good hands, RB/LB Cartez Brown who doubles as a running back, WR/FS Brennan Obey (5-9, 180) who is a three-year starter and CB Seth Lowe (5-8, 160, Sr.).

On special teams, you have Kicker Ethan Bearden (5-5, 145).

The Hannan football program is not just a strong team, they might have the highest ACT Scores for a starting offensive line in the state with an average score of 26 on the ACT and some change for the starting five combined in the classroom.
