Cecilia head coach Dennis Skains I think is one of the best young coaches in all of Louisiana. He is due to win a state title in the next three to five years or sooner. The fans in Cecilia are the incredible 12th man at home for this program with tons of history. The Bulldogs State Title in Football was in (1995).
“We had a great spring and the kids are working really hard,” said Coach Skains. “We should have a great year in 2023. I am excited moving forward with the kids we have.”
The program has one of the most exciting quarterbacks in the state of Louisiana in three-year starter Diesel Solari who is dangerous in the open field. I don’t know what his forty time is but Solari looks like he runs a 4.2 in the forty in real-time moving on the field in pads. Solari also plays running back, defensive back, outside linebacker and also returns kicks as well. The team also has another QB in Ellis Stewart (6-0, 175) who is a third-year starter and will play multiple positions for the team as a wide receiver or a defensive back when not at quarterback. A third QB in the mix is another great athlete who can play several spots on the field Brayon Calais (6-2, 190) a talented young player with 4.5 speed. The offensive line returns big-time players in second-year starter Ryker Airhart (6-6, 305), second-year starter Christian Menard (6-3, 260) and three-year starting TE Jonathan Boudreaux (6-2, 200). The wide receiver will be star player BJ Gordon (6-0, 180, 4.45 speed), second-year starter WR/DB Isaiah Champagne (4.5 speed), WR/RB/DB Jermaine Davis (5-7, 145, 4.45 speed and WR Braylon Calais.
Cecilia DE/OLB Demarco Roberts
The defense has speed and athletes everywhere. The defense will be built around three-year starter DE/OLB Demarco Roberts (6-3, 215, 4.6 speed), MLB Braylon Jones (5-11, 165), two-year DB Jylan Wiltz (5-9, 170, 4.5 speed), CB Franky Franks (5-9, 155, 4.5 speed) and several players we mentioned above will be two-way starters with again a ton of speed and experience back.
