“The program was 2-7 in 2021, which was the year before I got here,” Centerville head coach Charles Jefferson said. “In 2022, we doubled our wins to 4-6 and made the playoffs. We are a thousand times ahead from the first year I was here and was hired in the Summer so we did not have a spring as a team in 2022. This year the kids know the system and have bought in overall.”

The offense will be built around new starter QB Jaxon Frederick (5-10, 160). The run game returns two really good players in RB Johnny Gray and senior RB Bryson Thomas (5-10, 175). The passing game will revolve around several two-way starters at wideout in WR/SS Roderick Preston, All-District WR/DB Jaylen Washington, WR/DB Jameon Francis, WR/FS Taeshawn Jones who is a big-time athlete and athletic senior TE/DE Jamari Ayrow (6-2, 240). You also have TE/LB Arthur Bellanger and senior TE/LB Dylan Steiner (5-11, 185) who were both All-District in 2022. All the linemen will start on both sides of the ball led by OL/DL Russell Mandahburg, second-year OL/DL Jace Cooks and second-year starter senior OL/DL Ethan Frederick (6-2, 230).
