We have a fairly young team that graduated 14 players from our 2022 team,” Grogan said. “We are looking to fill key spots at offensive line, defensive line and linebacker in the fall. If we can fill those spots we can get to where we want to be in 2023.”

The Offense will have a new QB in Benjamin Case (6-1, 175), but he did letter and get experience in 2022. Case has a good arm and feet in the pocket. There will be a talented group of skill players that will be returning as most of these kids will start both sides of the football in 2023.

One of the key skill players the Eagles will build around will be 2x All-State senior CB/WR Tylon Hollins (6-1, 170, 4.5 speed). Hollins is also one of the best sprinters for track in Louisiana for the 200 Meters and 4x2 and 4x1. There’s also senior RB/WR/DB Gavyn Ramagos (5-9, 170) who is a leader on the team and senior FS/WR Jack Lipari (6-1, 180) who was 2nd Team All-District in 2022 leader. The Eagles also have All-District WR/CB/SS Gregory Hamer (6-1, 180, 4.55 speed) who is a playmaker, All-District and three-year starter SS/RB/WR Tate Fontenot (5-8, 175, 4.6 speed) who is another playmaker for the team, CB/WR Drake Rock (5-9, 155) who was an honorable mention for the All-District in 2022 and RB Kash Baker (5-9, 165, 4.6 speed) had two 100-yard games in 2022.

There are some key players back in the trenches that the program needs such as All-District senior LB Thomas Nini (5-9, 210) who is a big-time leader and is a hard-hitter as well. He is a team captain and had 82 tackles a season ago. They also have senior OL/DL Evan Picou (5-11, 220), senior OL/DL Malcolm Smith (5-8, 245), OL/DL Landon Billiott (6-0, 230), OL/DL Drake Terio (5-11, 225), senior OT Ayden Garcille (6-0, 220), DT Ryan Bennett (5-10, 230) and LB Kollin Nelson (5-9, 190).

The special teams will have punter Thomas Nini back for his second year to punt and he has a good leg. The kicker position is open going into the fall. In the return game, Tate Fontenot is back and he is a playmaker.
