The Chalmette Owls are doing a great job with a 3-1 record on the season. The Owls are on their way to having a better season than last year’s team that made the playoffs and finished with a 6-5 record.

The offense has one of the best keet-secret WR groups in all of Class 5A which is led by WR Rayone Russell Jr (6-1, 170, Sr.), WR Jaden Lapeyrouse (5-10, 165), WR Jaden Williams 5-10 165 Athlete, WR Deanthony Route (5-11, 170, Sr.) and WR/DB Jahari Banks who is a two-way starter and a sleeper recruit that has two interceptions this season.

The quarterback is former tight end Ethan Couvillion (6-2, 215) who is doing a great job at the position for this team. Couvillion knows the offense and is tough to tackle. The run game has RB Brandon Booker and RB Axton Lopez (5-9, 170). The Offensive Line has some size led by OL Brendon Herbert (6-3, 325, Sr.) who moves well for his size, OL Keyon Wilson (6-3, 300) who is another good player, Jeff Regan (5-11, 255) and talented young tight end Davin Basile (6-2, 225).

The Defense returns a very underrated and aggressive front seven with depth lead by three-year starter senior leader DE/DT Clarence Major (6-0, 245), DE/DT Zander Wolfe (6-0, 215), DE/DT Bryce Wolfe (6-1, 220), LB Stone Riviere (5-9, 195, Sr.) who has one interception so far, OLB Elijah Dubose (5-9, 180, Sr.), MLB Torin Bridgewater, LB Ashton Clark (5-11, 205, Sr.), DE Derrick Bennett (6-1, 215, Sr.), OLB Anthony Laugand, OLB Christian Wallace (5-6, 175, Sr.), DT Brennan Cobden (6-2, 235, Sr.), DT Jarvis Hagan and OLB/S Ricky Smith (6-0, 180, Sr.). The secondary has speed and is led by CB Skyler Stephens (5-8, 160, Sr.), CB/FS Tyler Watson (5-10, 155, Sr.) who has one interception this season, Leon Gonzales (5-9, 165, Sr.) and two-way starter DB Jahari Banks who has two interceptions so far this season.

Special Teams veteran three-year starter is back kicker Jaden Alphonso for his Senior year.

Chalmette head coach Jason Tucker deserves a lot of credit for the job he does at Chalmette. He always finds a way to get the job done and gets in the playoffs almost every year. Coach Tucker and his staff are masters of development and game-day coaching.
