“I love our depth in the offensive line as we have the numbers there and experience,” D’Arbonne Woods head coach Tommy Tharp. “Overall, we will be experienced in several positions, but this is still a young team. We will have to grow up fast to compete in our always competitive district and class.”

The Timberwolves have a 4-0 record so far on the season and it is one of the best starts in the school’s history.

The offensive line coach talked about the deep position. Here are the OL for the team, Shawn Basey (6-1, 320, Sr.), OL Jordan Nance (5-10, 230, Sr.), OL Hayden Williams (5-10, 230, Sr.), Brody Towns (6-0, 230), OL Austin Hearn (6-0, 210), TE/HB Hayden Gray (6-3, 240, Sr.), and OL Jamey Fisher. The QB’s are Weston Jones (6-1, 170, Sr.), and Wyatt Gilbert (5-9, 155). Both battled all summer and both can win games for the program. When one is not QB the other will start somewhere for the team. The top skill positions for this offense are Wyatt Gilbert when not a QB, Jackson Nolan (6-0, 175), RB/WR Kevin Rodriquez (5-8, 165), RB/WR Doran Sadler, and WR/RB Eli Reed.

On the defense, you will see a few starters from the offense also on defense as starters. More players back for the defense are LB Kason Hicks (5-10, 185, Sr.), DT Narciso Valerio (6-0, 225), DE/DT P.J Jones (6-0, 180), DB Riley Matthews (5-8, 155), LB Eli Reed, DE/DT Colin McCann (6-0, 175), and DB Austin Patton (5-8, 150).

Head Coach Tommy Tharp spent 10 years at Mangham High School and did a great job there. Coach Tharp put Mangham back on the map with football winning three district championships and taking his team to three state title games in 2013,2014 and 2015. He is already on his way to a great season with a young program and it would not shock me if they get there faster than later with Coach Tharp at the helm. He’s a big-time coach. Coach Tharp has 23 years of experience as a head coach.
