De La Salle head coach Graham Jarrott does a great job and has kept this program up there among the top teams in the state for Class 4A. This team, if they stay healthy, will finally have their chance to win all the marbles. The program has been so close and they are due.
“We had a great summer and spring and we know who our starters are,” Coach Jarrott said. "The defense is much improved and we have a lot of skill guys back on offense. However, we have to replace the offensive line from the 2022 season.
The program returns their starter from the 2022 season second-year starter Evan Arceneaux (6-2, 220) who is a sleeper prospect with good feet and an underrated arm. The run game will have a few talented choices in Jason Banks (5-10, 200, 4.5 speed, Sr.) who averaged 17 yards per carry in 2022 tough kid with 4.5 speed, RB/QB/WR Jace Bienemy (5-7 155 4.45 legit) All District Offensive MVP in 2021, RB Kolbe Pounds (5-9, 170, SR) and Robert Lewis (4.5 speed). The WR Room is the same as RB with depth and speed led by WR Levar Fortenberry (5-10, 175, 4.55 speed, Sr.), WR Malik Jackson new starter (5-8, 155, 4.5 speed), new starter WR Brandt Hayes (6-2, 165, 4.55 speed) who has great hands and WR Ronald Cash a great promising future 4.5 speed. The offensive line like Coach Jarrott mentioned is completely new but there’s talent starting with Center Shamar Bridges (6-2, 275), OT Ian Fields 6-2 260, OG Cedrick McDonald (6-0, 270), OT Earl Reed (5-10, 245, Sr.) and OG Gerald Daniels (6-0, 275). Also back to help clear running lanes is the FB Troy Williams (5-8, 220) one of the toughest kids in the District & TE Jacques Brignac (6-6, 250) who is a late bloomer with upside.

The defense returns four-year starter and two-time All-State LB Keidrick Richardson (5-10,230, Sr.), the heart and soul of this team and a tackling machine. He will have a chance to make the All-State team three times this season. In the weight room, Richardson benches 330, squats 510 and cleans over 300. You also have leader three-year starter DT/DE Timothy Maxson (6-1, 270), DT Jaiden Elly (5-10, 270), DE Jackson Perdue (5-11, 220), the athletic DE/OLB Dominique McGill (6-0, 225, 4.6 speed), big-time DE Jayden Pollard (6-0, 220) big-time player, OLB Matthew Bedi (5-11, 198) leader and LB/SS Ronyell Elzie 6-0 170 4.5 speed. The Secondary has back I think one of the best in the state in CB/FS/SS Derrick Irvin (6-1, 175, 4.5 speed, Sr.) and shut down DB. The secondary is talented with FS/SS Montez Randall (5-11, 165, 4.45 speed), CB Santana Jolla (5-11, 165, 4.5 speed, Sr.) and CB Malik Corneloeas (5-9, 165, 4.5 speed).

The special teams will be strong again led by second-year starter punter/kicker Connor Mathieu (6-3, 220) who will also get reps at TE for the team.
Coach Jarrott is a graduate of De La Salle and was a big-time offensive lineman back in the day for the Cavaliers. He was also a starting offensive lineman for Nicholls State.
