2022 Record: 10-2

Class & District: Class 1A (District 4)

2022 Playoffs: Lost to St. Martin's Episcopal in 2nd Round of Division IV (Select) Playoffs

Team Outlook: We finished with 40 players in 2022. 2023 we have about 45 kids. We have one of the best 1-2 punches for a run game in the state. We are rebuilding our defensive backs & wide receiver’s. Update, the Gators are currently 0-3 on the young season.

The run game of Keidron Thomas (6-0, 190, 4.4 speed), who ran for 1,150 yards in 2022, and Deandra Young (5-8, 170, Sr.), who had over 1,700 yards in 2022, make this pair as strong as any in class 1A football in Louisiana. Young can also squat 465 pounds. The new starting quarterback is Caden Wiggins (6-1, 170), who has a great future. The wide receiver position is led by WR/CB Maliky Dunn (5-10, 150, Sr.), a new starter and another new starter Major Fortenberry (6-3, 185, SR), who is already having a great year in 2023 for the team. Key lineman back starting on both sides of the football are TE/LB Lance Lively (6-1, 185, Sr.) ,OL/DL Peyton Till (6-3, 300), TE/DE Kameron Gray (6-2, 210), a new starter who is having a good season and OL/DL Preston Polhamus, (275 pounds).

The defense is led by a strong linebacking core MLB/RB Levi Ezell (5-8, 150), a leader and new starter, LB Lane Chappel (5-11, 190, 4.7 speed), who had over 100 tackles in 2022, two-way starter Lance Lively (6-1, 185, Sr.), and LB/RB Patrick Sanchez (6-0, 200).

Head Coach Jeremy Foote graduated from Delhi Charter High School (Class of 2009), and went to Louisiana Tech (Class of 2014). The Gators only throw the football coach told me between 7 or 8 times a year on the average.
