DeRidder head coach Brad Parmley is one of the most respected young coaches in Louisiana. All he does is win every year in a tough district. I am super impressed by what he does every year and never seems to rebuild with down years.
“I am excited with 15-16 starters coming back from the 2022 season. Looking forward growth guys played in 2022 for 2023.”
The offense will be strong again under Coach Parmley as the coaching staff does a good job of developing its players. The quarterback this year will be Uriah Wade (5-10, 170), who can play different positions as he is an exceptional athlete. The run game has always been a strength for this program. The Dragons have four running backs in their rotation: senior RB/WR Semant Fairley (5-7, 160), RB/WR Javaughn Fairley (5-7, 155), Ruben Piper (6-0, 170) coming off an injury from 2022 and RB Dylan Vines tough kid with some power to compliment everyone’s speed. The offensive line returns senior center Ethan Parker (5-10, 270), OT Quincy Estes (5-11, 270) plays like he’s (6-3, 300), OL Jacob Fernandez (6-4, 230) and young players competing in fall for the other spots. Also, the Dragons have a pair of solid tight ends in Jaden Aswell (6-3, 249) and Kaleb Foye (5-11, 215) who are both great blockers.
The defense returns one of the best players in the district in OLB Kenias St. Romain (6-4, 225) who plays some offense as a wide receiver or a tight end, DT K’Veion Williams (5-11, 295) is one of the top defensive tackles in the district back with great feet and strong, DT/DE/TE Jaden Aswell (6-3, 249) another big-time player in program as a returning starter and DB/ATH Jatari Harris (5-9, 170, 4.5 speed) great young Athlete can play multiple postions for the team on Offense and Defense. There’s also athletic OLB/SS DeMarco Watts (5-11, 205), FS Kirkland Leblanc (5-9, 170), LB Xavier Watson (5-9, 200, 4.7 speed), senior LB Tanner Lestage (5-7, 180) and senior DE Trey Bynum (5-11, 245).
