Fisher RB/DE Evan Phillips

“We haven’t been to the playoffs since 2016,” Fisher High School head coach Tevyn Cagins. “We had our highest participation of players in the summer and spring since I’ve been here with over 40 showing up every day from grades 8 to 12. I think if we can get to the playoffs or go .500 would be a great goal for this program.”

Fisher will play eight or nine 8th graders on varsity in 2023 and there are 15 overall for the team.

Fisher FS Lance Leblanc

The program will have a few players on both sides of the football. Key players that are back second-year starting QB Nickson Thibodeaux (6-2, 205), four-year starter RB/LB Lane Creppel (4.65 speed), four-year starter RB/DE Evan Phillips (5-11, 210, Sr.) who is also one of the leaders of this team, senior RB Isac Tamdorella (5-7, 165), senior OL/DL Logan Rome (5-10, 235), senior OL/DT Caleb Barient Duplantis (5-10, 240), senior TE/DE/DT Royce Mamolo (5-11, 185), LB Lance Defiore (5-10, 180), LB Kale Parria (5-9, 155), CB Jay Lewis (5-9, 150) who is a lock-down corner for this team and FS Lance Leblanc (5-5, 128). Don’t be fooled by Leblanc’s size as he had five Interceptions in 2022 and has a huge heart for the game. Leblanc also finished third in LHSAA State Wrestling Championships in the 106-pound weight division.

On special teams, the Gators will return punter/kicker Jose Hernandez (5-8, 135) who has a good leg.
