We are looking forward to this year. A lot of kids have played the last 2 to 3 years in the program. We need to work on Defense going into the fall and fall. We only have 3 Seniors in 2023. This is going on my 8th year with this group of kids and coached them since early on in JV Football. This is also the first year we don’t have to start a 9th grader on varsity.

The offense will revolve around QB Kyler Roberts (6-0, 185), who has played quarterback since his Pee Wee days. Roberts has a good arm and good feet in the pocket. There are a few two-way starters at the skill spots and they are WR/CB Cade Ingram 6-1 185 SR 4.6 speed who is a transfer from Mangham High School, new starter WR/CB Cole Bailey (5-11, 175), WR/DB Rudy Liles (5-10, 160), new starter WR/DB Hoyt Carroll (5-11, 170, Sr.), WR/DB Gavin Griffin (5-11, 170), WR/LB JC Ferrington (6-0, 200), RB/WR Addison Spradling (5-10, 215) who is a hard worker and a team leader with power and new starter WR/DB Adden Ward (5-11, 170).

The top linemen in the program through the summer were DE/LB Ty McMurry 5-11 220 SR 2nd leading tackler from 2022 season, OL/DL Noah Ratcliff (6-2, 255), OL/DL Isaac Sharp (6-0, 200), OL/DL Tucker Grayson (6-2, 250) and OL/DL Blaine Mullion (6-0, 260, Sr.).

Head Coach Marvin Ferrington is a graduate of Wisner High School (Class of 1979). Coach told me while he was at Wisner High School they won state titles in both baseball and basketball. Franklin Academy is located in Winnsboro. MAIS league is an 8-man football league.
